Horse hair pottery

I'm having a pot made with Dapper Dan's tail hair by dancingfirepottery. I've been thinking about it for a while. I think the pot will look good displayed with my western and New Mexico items. Dapper Dan did not seem to mind that I had to pull 40 hairs out of his tail! It will take 3 weeks. I think it will be a fun piece to have.

I've never had any artistic thing made for my horses, just photography. Dapper Dan rates a little immortality. I know people have had t shirts, coffee mugs, calendars, and jewelry made with their horses.

Sounds cool! We've considered having some glass paper weights made with horse hair. (Special horses that have passed.)

Got a notice that my pot is on the way. I'll post a picture. Hopefully I can pose the ornery Dapper Dan with it somehow. We'll see--don't want to break it before I can display it!

That is quite pretty. To me it looks like Native American piece of pottery.

Yes, horse hair pottery is native American. I wanted to display it on my adobe brick mold shelf but it is too large. I'll have to find a good spot for it.
