I was shocked that they wrote Kal Penn's character Dr. Cuttner out of the show, and on such short notice.

I was even more shocked they put it in as a suicide and then posted the National Suicide Hotline at the end of the show.

I finally found the story behind everything - he accepted a job with President Obama and had to quit the show to go to Washington D.C. That was really interesting.

I was shocked as all dookie too LOL I like how they did it though. To show that not all suicides show their emotions and give hints. When they shows the reruns I will surely watch to see if there were any hints.

I read some where that Kal Penn has been in a few eposides of 24 and also started filming a new movie. That it is because of these two reasons he wanted off House. The writers didn't have time to write a story line for him to leave in a different manner, so decided to have his character exit this way and try to bring awareness that it isn't always possible to tell if someone is suicidal.

I am so sad... I am a devouted House fan and I was sick Monday so I missed that episode -- My mom luckily called me to fill me in so I knew what was going on and then the next day I heard that he was going to the white house as part of Obama's staff or something... So sad to see him go.....

My sis and I keep saying to each other "Kutner's gone!" He was such a fun contrast to House and the rest of the team. I can't say I like the way the writers chose to have him leave, but I do think it's great the actor is going on to do things at the Whitehouse!
