I am very sorry about your loved one, family member, friend, best buddy. I know what you are going thru, we had to put 2 dogs down because of their age in the past year. I do not know if it is possible, but we had our vet come out to our place to put them asleep and then we were able to be at home and have privacy during this moment and able to bury them and say good bye at our home and not in a vet clinic. It is a time to cry, hurt, scream, what ever it takes; then it is time to say goodbye, it is very hard, I will not lie, but do not be selfish when your loved one is in pain and cannot function 100%. They will love you more at the end when you take the pain away. I know what you are going thru and I think it is just a test or stage in life we all have to go thru, because if we do not, then we are not human. Hang in there.

This is an excellent idea and one that I have done on several occasions. It is much more peaceful for everyone involved. Havic should already have a catheter in place which will make the process much easier.

Have you and your daughter read this: Rainbow Bridge Poem

Then visit this site:Rainbow Bridge

Perhaps, it make this a little easier and help your daughter find comfort.

I am so sorry you and your family are going through this with Havic. Unfortunately, it is a part of the life of being a dog owner.

I agree with those that said maybe you can try to have him put to sleep in your home, with your family gathered around so you can say your goodbyes in the privacy of your own home. It is also an option to do this at the vet clinic, if not in your home. (((HUGS))) to all.

I feel your pain coming right through my screen. This is the worst part of owning an animal.

It killed me to part with my Tracey last year and I mean killed me.

I lost Michael, what more could I possibly loose? Yes, my best friend

and constant companion. My heart dog.

She, like Havic, had the will to live, but there was no longer any quality of life.

It wasn't right to keep her alive for me when in my heart of hearts I know the most

loving thing was to let her go in dignity as the proud dog she was. I know she is

happy and playing bally with Michael.

Havic knows he is not well and of course he knows how much you love him.

I'm so sorry sorry sorry for your pain and the pain your family is in.

Wrap around each other for hugs.

I have too lost a very dear dog! She was 8 years old and had her since she was born! She died in December of 2006! She went down one day, took her to the vets. They put her on IVs on a Friday. I went to see her 2-3 times that day. She tried to get up, wag her tail, or you could see her eyes move to meet yours. That night she turned for the worst. I knew that morning it was time. I pet her head and said good-bye.

I miss her everyday, I always think I didn't give her enough love. I keep thinking I'll see her again at the rainbow bridge, and give her the biggest hug...
