It's been the strangest breeding year I've ever had in all my years of breeding!

Some of my mares didn't cycle at all this summer likely due to the extreme heat this summer and the mild winter we had.

I've had a few checked in foal and one I thought was in foal, vet checked open. I could have as few as 7 and as many as 10 or 11. I still have a few mares in with stallions and I might be having some fall babies next year!

The first foal is due mid March.

All of my foals will be by Harts Tip Top Flash and McSperitts Rowdy Night Image. I can't wait to see what Image will sire as this will be his first foal crop for us! :aktion033: :aktion033:

We have a possible 28 mares due for 2007. A few probably didn't catch but most of them should have. We will probably have them vet checked in a couple weeks. The first mare will be due mid-February, we waited a little while before breeding this year because we were afraid it would be too cold in January. 10 of our mares were bred to our National Grand Champion Lucky Four Silvers Rebel Legacy and he has been around 75% or higher producing fillys, this year he was 100% fillys. Then some mares are bred to our Sids Rebel son Lucky Four Rebels Reno, our Sids Rebel Grandson Lucky Four Gallants Galaxy, a few mares are bred to Gander Hill Legacys Rowdy Dancer, 1 mare is bred to our new stallion Mariahs Peppy Image, and 1 more mare is bred to Grosshills EK Undisputed Creation. Can't wait till foaling season even though i will be up just about every night. Aubrey

28 Aubrey????!!!! :new_shocked: Ok, you will never know what your bed looks like again! I couldnt do it!

Yep 28 possible foals in 2007. But we have cameras, foaling alarms, and everything. It isn't as bad when you don't have to go out at night to check on all of the mares. All i have to do is turn on the computer and look at each mare's camera. But yea...still 28 mares is going to be a lot. I still won't get any sleep....but i still can't wait until foaling season.

Hopefully 3 - all of my mares have been ultrasounded in foal. This is a first for us as we have never had more than one baby in a year. Last year was a very unlucky year for us, so hopefully 2007 will be great. Two of my girls didn't catch for 2006 babies and the third lost hers when Wilma came through last November. Anyway, I am praying for healthy babies. I'd love fillies, but at this point I just want live foals.

Good luck and lots of prayers everyone for a great upcoming foaling season. Oh yeah, my first mare due is Peanut She will be 340 days on March 26th, but came early with Dawn (filly in my avatar).

Will be having 2 next year. Both ultrasounded in foal. 1 in March and 1 in April. So eariler babies then we usual so will be buying some baby blankets lol :bgrin

We are also expecting our very first mini foal, due in late June 2007!!! Mare and stallion were both bred by forum members: Cay Lees Omegas Champagne on Ice (palomino pinto mare) bred to Kickapoos Nickelodeon (now owned by another forum member). We are extremely excited, and will be happy with a live, healthy foal of either gender and any color.

:aktion033: I am so excited, we are expecting our very first foal in 2007, Pepper will be 340 days on June 10. The sire is FF's Chico :bgrin

We should have 7-8...hopefully. This will be our first year having foals by our White Russian son (although he already has foals on the ground)...and our very first foal crop from our appy stallion...so we're pretty excited! We should have 2 in March...the rest should be May/June.

28! OMGoodness! For the lady that has 28 mares expecting, I sure hope you have help!!!

We've got 5 coming next year with the first one being March. We didn't own a mature stallion this year so we went outside for all our breedings. The one I'm most anxious to have is by my 16 yo palomino, Bar Ls Pot O Gold, who is bred to Seahorse Olympia Golden Opportunity. She has a gorgeous head and he is stunning! He belongs to Monette at Wisteria Mini Horse Ranch. Then I have two bred to a blue-eyed buckskin (Buckeroo breeding) stallion that is something else. My Johnstons Gold Boy daughter is bred to a Sids Rebel son and last but certainly not least...is by Komokos Native Boss daughter is bred to an unbelievable cremello Seahorse Gold Melody Bar. Our hands are going to be full!!!!

In '08 we'll have our first babies from our new hersire WF Mas Corona (in avatar)!

Fun post! Thanks! :aktion033:

My grandparents own the farm and everything but in the last few years i have been taking over a lot of it and running everything but i also do a lot of showing and training horses too. I am their grandson and i am 18 years old and this is my first year of college but i am living at home so i will still be here for a lot of the foaling and everything. We are lucky and have enough help so it isn't as bad as it could be if it was just me. 28 mares due is the most we have ever had but we had 20 mares due this year. Aubrey

I am so looking forward to more Falcon foals.... Liz (Nootka) may have the only ones though....That is cool!

I had her mares here early in the year, and BAM each took on the first heat. Now here it gets interesting....

I bred two of my maidens,,, cycle after cycle after cycle, from late February untill July,,, and then one more maided in June. ALL of them seem to think they are entitled to more Falcon Lovin'!!! Darn it, I can't imagine that he couldn't settle all three?!? I hope it is just maidens being maidens.

Anyway here are two of the three bred to him,, keep your fingers crossed for me!

I need to check but I think our first ones are due in March.

7 mares are in foal to Lotto (maybe 9)

And maybe 1 to 4 might be bred to Magic.

We only always had 4 (5 once) or less foals a year, but if things go well (please God) then we might get between 8 and 13 foals in 2007.

I'm SO excited! My "first time" colt Lotto did well!

A Bond Snipet daughter that has not had a foal in about 9 years IS 6 months along to Lotto! One date with him and BAM!

And my mare that has not settled since she had a red bag in 2004 IS in foal to Lotto!

He did so well settling the mares in one "go" that we now have too many due at the same time LOL! But I'll be in heaven to finally see his first babies

Hi,

We are expecting 18 foals in 2007! We are really excited about them, we have a nice mix of amha/amhr foals coming, some will be sired by our small amhr/amhr/aspc stallion, so they will be interesting small half shetlands. We also have some aspc/amhr foals coming, we are really pleased with last years crop and have some new maiden mares foaling this spring, should be really nice!

Then we also have some mini mares in foal to our mini studs who have produced national and reserve national champions. The foals are the best part of the miniatures, we enjoy them so much! Isnt it fun to just watch them out there playing and looking gorgeous, I could do that all day! Laura

The foal I'm expecting is due Mid April :aktion033: The foal is from a bred mare I purchased with my mom. I am so excited. I lost my first expected baby last year and was really upset about that. I also lost the mom which made it worse. I lost them both from 2 unrelated events.

Justjinx has given you the rundown of the rest of our stable.
