How much would you pay in taxes with Obama or McCain?

Interesting site Chico. Really interesting to see the differences. Personally though I feel that the amount of taxes I'll save isn't the biggest issue in this election. Sometimes there are more important things than money.

It doesn't address the tax implications to small business which will touch many, many families. I feel if Obama is elected, these taxes, as well as health insurance issues, could cost a tremendous number of jobs.

If the small business owner makes over $250,000 after paying his employees, paying everything he has to pay, applying all his deductions and still comes out with a taxable income (meaning he personally made $250,000 after all that, than he/she is doing pretty darn good. My husband is a small business owner and after paying salaries and applying all deductions he is entitled to he doesn't get a salary or profit of $250,000.

Danielle, that's not how it works for businesses (Corporations). I own a business. It is a corporation (a C-Corp) and there are different tax rules. The business is its own entity separate from myself and the other owner. Part of the problem is people think they know how stuff works, and they don't.

It might be a big deal to people who can't afford enough health care to properly cover themselves. This way they might be able to afford health care because of the tax cuts and that would be a good thing, not a scary thing. And yes McCain has a plan as well for healthcare which is wonderful because I find it so sad when I hear someone has lost their home or had to declare bankruptcy because of healthcare bills they incur.

Danielle there's no doubt that a savings in tax will affect people differently. I wouldn't presume to comment on how it will affect others.....only myself. I couldn't agree with you more that it's indeed sad that people can't afford health care.

How does this figure into it?

McCain says he wants to extend the post 9/11 tax cuts that will expire next year unless Congress extends them.

Obama will reduce middle class taxes from the restored higher rates that take effect next year.

I don't feel it's patriotic to pay more taxes as Biden says, under Obama, I would be paying more! And it is a factor in my voting, although a small one.

A vote for either republican or democrat is going to be a huge tax increase........Did I miss something or did both candidates just lobby for a bailout at the taxpayers expense ? I hear after the pork it increased from 700 Billion to over a trillion dollars. Way to go Congress!

I understand and I know too that some who would get a tax break under a certain party and who don't have insurance or don't have enough wouldn't use that money to help them with that but instead spend it on other things so they would still be health care poor.
