Hi everyone,

I am thinking of buying a colt. He is 9 months old and just a little over 29 inches. Do you think he will outgrow his AMHA papers? Does anyone have any quesses on his mature height?

He will probably get to around 33" to 34" tall at maturity. However horses grow differently but thats my guess.

Its really hard to tell - I had a colt that never grew any more after he was 20 months old. My neighbors many years ago, sold a colt that was 32 as a yearling. What did he mature at? 32.5"!!

Check out this site, should help!

I am new at this. He is double registered but I would hate for him to lose his A papers.

I would also love for someone other than me to take a look at him. If anyone is interested please just email me. I promise not to hold you accountable for any info you give.

Come on Jane I know your not shy!!
Sorry I forgot to add my e-mail: [email protected]

I would bet that he will not outgrow his A papers. Like it has been said they all grow at different rates. I still think the best estimator of height is the canon bone. Measure from middle of knee to top of hoof and multiply by 4. You will be within an inch either way.

I have to tell you that, if he is going to outgrow his papers so are all of mine!!!
