First off Jack is improveing alot! He is slowly learning to sit, and does it about 50% of the time I ask. This past week he has been useing the bells on the door. I hung them there to try to teach them to use them when they gotta go. Mitzy still dont use them, but she is a bit different all together now that she is in heat. Jack jumps on them when he has to go out if I am in the other room. If I am in the liveing room by the door he will sometimes use them, but mainly just goes and stands by the door and looks up.

He has had 2 accidents since xmas day. One in the house and the other in his xpen at moms. He is makeing progress and I hope it continues.

Now my question. Jack does not like to share me with MItzy. He only does this when he is in my lap. If he is laying with me or what not, and MItzy comes up he growls at her. I do get after him and tell him no when he does this as I dont want him to become that protective of me. Is there any other way I can teach him not to do that?

That's a good question Ash.

I have the same thing here.

Tracey will not tollerate Devin to get too close without her snarling at him, giving him the warning that she is #1. I usually just tell her to knock it off using a firm voice and she gets it. It's hard on her though because she is very protective and territorial of me and she's just being loyal.

I do think in most situations like this, you are going to have an alpha dog. Everything at your place is still new and things have to work themselves out sometimes and you can't control all the situations. Time helps things fall into place.

Have 'special time' spent with all the dogs.

If the protective dog growls say Noooooo in a gruff voice then if he stops growling pat both the dogs and praise. It will take time.
