Okay guys, last post on neck sweating from me I promise. My neck sweat came in the mail finally! I ordered the fleece ones from mini express. The 3" throat sweat and the 6" neck sweat. For "Knight" my 28" gelding.

When I pulled them from the bag, the throat one was simple enough to figure out...but then the neck sweat was a different story. The fleece it's self is almost as long as me! Do I just wrap and wrap until I get to the (black part...so sorry I'm not sure what it's called, so new to this) Then velcro it? Or do I double up on it? Are there any videos, or step by step pictures somewhere that could help me? Maybe some of you could post pics of of same type of sweats so I can get an idea of how they are supposed to look once they are on?

Heres the sweat I bought - http://miniexpress.com/sweating-aids/6-inch-rubatex-neck-sweat-wrap-with-fleece/prod_36.html

Thank you guys so much! Look forward to the replies

Put the throat sweat on, then I wrap in the direction of the mane you just start wrapping and when you get the actual neoprene part you velcro it, You don't want it so loose it comes unwrapped but you don't want to choke him either. remember it will loosen when he puts his head down. I put it so I can get a finger under it when their heads are up. This seems to work for me.

I AGREE WITH KAREN, YOU WANT IT SNUG TO STAY ON. THE FIRST TIME I PUT ON MY HORSE HE FAINTED, SCARED ME SILLY THEN BUT NOW ITS FUNNY. HE JUST FELL OVER,HE HAD NOT BEEN HANDLED MUCH BEFORE I GOT HIM.

There are great videos on how to wrap neck sweats on Stars. It's for theirs but should work for any sweat.

Part of the trick is in rolling up the wrap before you put it on. You roll it up like you would a leg bandage (start at the velcro end) and roll it tight. Then I lay it along the side of the neck and then wrap it so it goes in the direction of the mane, as others said. It is much easier to wrap if you start out with a tight wrap.
