Capitalism is why I can own:

* Something that helps me feel safe, like my own home

* Something I'm proud of, like my own business

* Something as frivolous and enjoyable as my herd of tiny horses

* Something little but meaningful, like a book of my choice...

Human Rights are anchored in property rights. If you have hopes and dreams too, you also must appreciate capitalism. Without it, there is no American Dream.

I ♥ Capitalism.

So true. Just wondering if you had heard of the documentary called "Agenda" ? Some family members watched it and I saw the first 20-30 minutes of it and didn't have time to finish the rest. Seemed very interesting.

Some people do not support capitalism. Go figure. Interesting story: I will try to just hit the highlights. Couple of years ago needed new roof due to storm damage. One company smoozed me on the metal roof bid. Did not order my metal, kept me waiting for months and tried to double the price since metal had skyrocketed since the bid. If they had just ordered my metal things would have been fine. They thought I would be a sucker and let them put on a composition roof later since they had bid more jobs than they were able to take care of. I got 3 other people to look at the job for a composition roof instead of them. I received 2 bids. I then stormed into the office of the guy who never ordered my metal and told the owner where he could put it. :arg! Came home one day just to find that that the one that had not even submitted a bid had just put a roof on my house without a contract simply because I liked a shade of a particular shingle he showed me. If I am lying I am dying. True story. Mexicans were cleaning up the job, and it did look good. Got presented a bill from the roofer who never submitted a bid. Was way above the other two bidders. I wrote the guy a nasty letter and sent him a check for the average of the other two bids, even though people were telling me I did not owe him a dime. The old coot started calling me up at night drunk telling me how he wanted the "rest of his money". He told me he had recently got backing from a prominent businessman and that I would be hearing from that man's team of lawyers. Lo and behold, one day I kept seeing this little yuppie type van cruising by my place and turning around and cruising some more. The little twirp in the van reeked of lawyer. I went out and hid in the flower beds out by the driveway and while he was driving by snooping I popped up like a rabbit and walked right up to his window. He informed me of how he was representing this man that I had not paid full amount for my roof. I told him to pull right up in my drive so we could discuss it. He said he was ok out in the county road. I kept telling him he was parked in a dangerous curve and should pull up in my drive. Well, at least he was no dummy there. If I could have got him on my property I would have "whooped his rear and called him shorty". Anyhow, somehow in the squabble politics came up and I told him "last time I checked capitalism was alive and well.' Well, apparently he was for whatever asinine reason a supporter of "cradle to grave" and we got into a heck of an argument there. I am telling ya, if I could have got him on my turf I was going to stomp a mudhole in him. Long story short the prominent businessman has since dropped the wanna be roofer crook as an associate. Sorry I rambled. BTW my co-workers do not have a clue what capitalism is. They would probably think it has something to do with upper case letters. I kid you not.

Sorry, when you mentioned capitalism all I could think of was the little attorney that came very close to getting worked over by a girl raised in the south. :chargeAs well as the old crooked drunk coot!

Love it! I'm happy I'm not the only one who "gets it". This is such a divisive time on all lines -- race, religion, class and politics. Property rights are crucial to human rights. That's the foundation and without that in place, there is no liberty. Capitalism works, when "we" allow it to do it's thing unhampered.

I know you have mentioned that you go to World Net Daily a lot. I do not know if you participate in the forums and comments there or not. My husband is addicted to it I do believe. Anyhow, is it not amazing the contrast that MSN posters WND posters have in their views? I have been going there keeping up with Cold Case Posse and I wish that I had more time to really read there more. Plan on going there later tonight to read more about "the tapes."

Vickie, I've never been to (heard of!) World Net Daily! It must be someone else BUT it sounds like something I would want to check out! SO, I'm going to look for it how

My bad. I thought you did. Well, glad I could tell you about it. Def a one stop place and they cover it all. I am not going to tell you my husband's screen name...but only that he is very passionate about America, can argue with a fence post, keeps his sense of humor, is very creative in his writing, and deserves an F in spelling, grammar, and sentence structure. He is often found there on his

. Usually in the evening while I am cooking he is on computer reading me what he wrote. It always sounds brilliant but when I actually read what he wrote sometimes I have to get him to translate.

Capitalism does work!

Capitalism does work, and it's the only economic framework that does. Capitalism rewards good ideas. Government chooses winners. Just look at the PO* Chevy Volt...

Another discussion makes me want to give this a bump. It's disheartening how many people do not appreciate the importance and the goodness that Capitalism brings to the world. Without it, what would you have? It's not about greed. It's about human rights and the pursuit of happiness.
