My beautiful 8 year old Pommie died today while coming out of the Anesthesia after surgery to fix his last loose patella. He'd had the other one done last year and came through that fine. All the vets were soooo upset, they think it must have been a bloodclot that stopped his heart. Bonnie's going to talk to him tomorrow, just to see if he's still around and how he's feeling. Me? I've not cried this much or this often in many years.

Fizzgig was (as hubby Michael put it) our #1 son. He was the smartest little dog - to the point that he knew how to spell things! (Like c-h-e-e-s-e!) He sang, spoke, sat, down, crawl, did 3 different dances and 2 different begging positions, knew when I was happy or sad - knew the difference between when I left the house with him to go to the home office or to go to the car. Just the perfect dog - of any size.

Everyone who met him loved him - even cat people or people who didn't like little dogs! He will be missed... more than I can ever say.

I have to stop before I start sobbing again.... don't know how I'm going to sleep without my little Fizzy by my head!

I am so sorry for you.

I don't know what to say as nothing I can say or do will make it better, just say that I'm thinking of you and wishing for the best for you.

he is a beautiful boy!

Karen, I don't know what to say, such a pretty dog and what an awful way to lose him. I know how hard it is to lose our fur babies, a couple of years ago I lost 3 dogs and a horse within 6 months, I was devastated too. Even now thinking of them still brings tears to my eyes but I also smile when I think of the many happy hours we spent together. My heart goes out to you in your loss, take care, my friend.

: I'm sitting here with tears streaming down my face. I'm SO sorry! I lost my special one 8 years ago and I still cry. My heart aches for you. Such a pretty baby.

I wish I could reach out and give you a big hug or a shoulder to cry on. My heart aches so for you. I know exactly what it feels like to lose your special one. You're gonna have a big empty hole for a while but it will get better....just takes a while. Let yourself grieve for your little Fizzgig.

I'm so sorry but thank you for sharing such a special soul with us.

Karen,

I am in tears for you. I also know how devastating it is to lose these precious little fur babies - they are so close and dear to our hearts. Hugs and prayers for you as you mourn your precious little Fizzgig!

Karen --

I'm more sorry than words can say. I know what it's like to have a fur son

I'm so very sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry! I know how terribly devistating it is to lose one of our fur-kids; especially when it was so unexpected.

That special place in your heart that was totally his will never change - it will always belong to Fizz. They never really leave us. He's still with you.

I couldn't read your post without crying. I know this hurts more than you can describe. I lost my Shih Tzu earlier this year after 17 wonderful years. They truly are our children and leave a huge hole in our hearts when they leave us.

I will be thinking about you and your family. Fizzgig was a beautiful little fella. Shannon

We lost an adopted dog some years ago, after she had had surgery for hip dysplasia, she had a reaction to the pain medication and they could not save her. We were devastated.

Losing a beloved dog is always difficult, but suddenly and unexpectedly like this, it is a terrible shock also. ((((hugs)))) and prayers.
