Since I have pictures now, Introducing our 2009 AMHA World Champion Amateur Jr Stallion Level 1 30" & under - RHA Mercury Rising. I can't even begin to express how proud I am not only of my horse but of my daughter as well. Without her fitting our horses and being there to support my horrible attempts to show, I wouldn't have had this huge thrill. I also want to thank Bob and Pam Walsh of Rocking Horse Acres for allowing us to own this wonderful young stallion. Sorry Bob, I just had to have your horse LOL. Thank you all for letting me share my win, as someone that doesn't show much and hasn't been in the ring in over 2 years, to say I was shocked was an understatement. Samantha also showed Mercury in Amateur Level 2 and placed top ten (8th) in a very tough class and in Futurity (thank goodness, sure helped pay the way a bit) to a top five (4th).

Congrulations, he was fitted and shown to perfection! I LOVE that last photo of him. That is one I would proudly put on the mantel or living room wall. :D

Thank you all, I am so proud of Mercury but more so of Samantha. She works two jobs, helps with the farm and still does all of the fitting and training here. We have proven that it doesn't take a trainer to win a World title, it just takes dedication. No, our title isn't in an open class but the trophy looks the same and I got a jacket LOL. And I am so lucky to have not only a wonderful horse but a great kid. Of course we couldn't have done any of it with wonderful breeders like Rocking Horse Acres providing us with Mercury. I will always be grateful to them.

So just remember, doesn't matter what you do, how much money you make, or what you look like. If you are dedicated, you can win at the World level without a trainer. Oh and our first World title was three years ago with a 3 year old driving horse that was trained by a friend of ours, he was never touched by a professional trainer. It can be done. You just have to believe in your self and your horses.

A big congratulations to you! That was a tough class and you have every right to be proud!
