I'm so sorry. I do know how wonderful a little dog can be as a best friend as I have one like that, too. I also know there's no way you will ever be able replace your little soulmate but someday maybe you can find another little one to befriend who will be just as wonderful in their own way. Just keep Cricket in your heart and she'll be with you forever. (((HUGS)))

My heart goes out to you I have recently had the same thing my little Chu was 18 and I lost her in Nov. We have two other dogs but its not the same as having Chu. She was a crapzu and came home to me in my husbands pocket. There will never be another like her but there will be others Im sure at some point cant even think about it right now. ((( Hugs ))) to you.

I'm so sorry your precious little girl had to leave you.....it's so hard to let go. She will be that diamond shining brightly in the sky every night for you. Know she will always be with you...running like a puppy in spirit and smiling at you. My heart breaks for you.

: It is so hard to lose those dogs, they are the best friends anyone could ever want.

Sending hugs your way.

I am so sorry for your loss of your little Cricket. It always hurts so much to lose a faitful pal and companion. As much as it hurts now later on you will have nothing but all the wonderful memories Cricket and you shared. Corinne

Oh, {{{Maxine}}}!!! I am so, so sorry! It breaks my heart to read this post. My best friend has four legs, too.

I am so terribly sorry for your loss! Know she will always be with you in your heart and in memories.

Oh geez - so so sorry to hear about the loss of your little friend. Our animal friends are so much deerer to a lot of us then our actual human buddies...Take care in knowing that your little loved one is in good hands now and you will be reunited one day!

Lori

I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart aches for you. I still "talk" to my Tasha even though she's been gone almost a year. I love my new puppy but I keep Tasha's picture where I see it every day.

Just occured to me I didn't say why, so went back and edited to include the reason, it was cancerous tumor, explanation in original post. Maxine

Oh Maxine I'm so sorry. It's never easy to let a friend go, she'll be waiting for you across the rainbow bridge.

Dear Maxine I am so sorry for your loss, I wish for you a warm feeling of peace and acceptance. It won't come soon but it will start to settle in eventually. Here is a nice poem that has helped me somewhat.

Because you will not be forever,

Hope against time though I may,

I paint your picture in my memory,

Eyes blue with age, muzzle gone gray.

Because you walked with me in Springtime,

Puppy-clumsy, running free.

As you grew, we grew together-

You became a part of me.

Because you shared with me my sorrows,

Not understanding- simply there.

Often spurring me to laughter--

My friend, you know how much I care.

Because the years have slowed your fleetness,

Though your spirit still is strong.

I promise I will take more time now,

So that you can go along.

Because you do not fear the future,

Living only in the now,

I draw strength from your example-

Yet time keeps slipping by somehow.

Because the day will soon be coming

When I will no longer see

You rise to greet me-but in memory

You will always walk with me.

- Gayl Jokiel

I do envy you your openness in being able to reach out to strangers for comfort. I am a true animal lover who could not grieve more than if I had given birth to them myself.. so I can tell you I feel your pain..I guess there is something to the term misery loves company - you can be sure a fat woman in Ga. is here for you in your prayers for peace to go on without your precious Cricket.

Just remember Cricket is not part of your past, but part of your FUTURE. You'll be with her again in HEAVEN.

:saludando: Bless your heart. You did what was right for your friend. You would not have wished the suffering on her treatment would have brought. May a new one soon come to helpwith your loss.

My little mini Dachsund Cricket, who didn't care that I was fat, or that I had no special talent or couldn't walk well.

To her I was always her hero, and she was mine, she was 17 and traveled with me, slept with me. She thought she was Rottweller in fact got under the belly of one once and chased it off biting it's belly when it threatened me.

She spent the last few years doing a lot of sleeping and cuddling but even to the end would come in the house and take off running circles like a puppy at full speed, I swear with a smile on her face.!

Today we thought she was to get a swollen tooth pulled. Turned out to be a very invasive cancer timor that would have killed her in two weeks. We could have had surgery and chemo but she would still die in 6 weeks so we agree to have her put to sleep. Such a shock!

I already miss you Cricket, and always will. See you again over the Rainbow Bridge,
