If you want to have the BEST icecream of your life here's how...

Freeze some bananas and pineapple (really you can do this with any fruit of your choice)

Break them into about inch to two inch sections then pop them in the food processor. The food processor works best.

You need to eyeball this but put in about half a cup or so of RICE MILK(rice dream is fabulous)... NOT regular milk. It's better to start out with too little rather than too much. Then turn the food processor on, if it's not "moving" well enough put a wee bit more rice milk in until it's going smoothly. Then you have the best "icecream" you've ever tasted in your entire life. The bonus is that it's not bad for you!

hmmm sounds interesting...now question. Where does one get this rice milk, and do you not add ice cubes in the blender?

I've never used soymilk...it might work!

No icecubes in the blender...the cold ricemilk and the frozen bananas (or whatever other fruit it is) make it quite cold!

Up here rice milk can be found in any corner store or grocery store. So I would assume you would find it at your local grocery store! The most popular brand is called rice dream.

Some of your larger stores have a "health food section" or such. Yep, the Rice Dream is really good. A little sweeter than your normal milk but, if you didn't see it being poured that might be the most distinguishing factor about it vice "real" milk. I would certainly think that the soy could be used.

Most of these milk replacement drinks come in heavy cardboard type containers and on on the shelves, not the coolers. Lot of lactose intolerants out there who really use them and the products have become quite good tasting -- AND good for you!

I'm thinking strawberries and coconut........ :bgrin

Yep I've done those types of smoothies/milkshakes for years.....and for the person who asked...yes it is just as good with soymilk and there is the vanilla silk soymilk that is just awesome in smoothies and on cereal.....particularly granola :bgrin :bgrin

Another spot in the grocers to look for rice dream is on the shelves with the baking type dry goods....usually it is in some weird aisle on the top shelf
