Okayyy. So i have talked to my mom about geting the mini i want from the xxxxxx and she has been thinking about it! for like two days! lol, im trying not to bugg her about it, and just be cool! but im really anxious about knowing! She has never put this much thought into a horse, normally i get a firm "No", but then again a mini horse is more reasonable then the Clydsdale wanted. It's driving me crazy, but then if she says yes. then i need to contact the xxxxxx again and get some more recent pictures to look over it's confermation and all. Then if i like him i have to get the contract all settled, Shipping, i have to makes sure he is all up to date on his vetting and such... lol. Sorry im just kind of going on!

Good Luck! I hope your mom see how wonderful this will be for you. When my daughter asked me for a horse years ago I thought about it for approx 15seconds. Said yes lets see what we can find. She had her first horse within a week.

I have always loved horses and figured it would give her something she loved and that it would keep her busy thru her teen years. It did and history was written. I had to get something to then keep me busy at the barn so I acquired my 2 mares and my stallion and we are all still together. Life is good!

Good luck!

Looking forward to hearing the decision.

I think she is seeing it. Like i had a ottb, but we had to put him down in October, and i really want another horse again. And everytime i come on here and i look at the photos i just melt when i see the fancy show horses, because they are so elegant looking. Im trying to not to be a nuge and ask her, but i realy want to know! and i know if i bugg her she will say no... lol. so im trying to to like ask her too much. But she is so hard to read! because she is a retired detective, lol.

I hope it works out for you! I'm such a push over when it comes to animals,I love them as much as the kids

LoL. Yea. Im hoping she will make her decicion tonight, i'll probally talk with mom and dad at the dinenr table and try and come up with an answer. Like we were at the dinner table with my Grandparent's, and Aunts and My dad was saying how he always used to travel before he got maried and got kids. and i was like "Well...if you want to travel, you can bring me down to Delaware to get my mini!" and my mom was like "How bout you and Czi (russian for aunt) go down to deleware and get the mini" (my aunt is the one who is helping me buy it, its like my graduation present) sooo...it sounds promising.

Okay, so i talked to my parents last night about it. It went okay, My mom wasn't all "Let's go and get a horse" but she wasn't "No" she's worried that i will get the mini, and then want a big horse to ride. But i tried to explain to her that I want Both, but right now a Mini is more reasonable then having a big horse. So...idk what will come out of this... im only hoping for the best

Okay, so i figured i would give you all an update!

We talked about it some more. And they had me come up with a list of expenses for a year...including Show feees, show supplys, feed...ect... so i did that, then they had me come up with a list of expences of stuff we would have to get before we get the horse...wich just ended up on adding a new stall onto my barn and geting some more sturdy fencing!

So we started planing the Stall, instead of adding it on to our 12x12 stall we have now. We are going to buiild one on Metal Skids so it moves around. We are geting Sheep panel fencing. It works great for mini's, it's what we use at the barn i work at for our mini stallion. They are in 10 foot sections and are portable, and hook into eachother. So were going to get a few of those, to create a padoct off the "Stall" and then we are just going to run another line of electric fencing that is already up now!

So even though she hasn't said "Yes" yet, im pretty sure we are going to get him! im so excited. im pretty sure you all will be the firsts to know when she says yes!

Just wanted to add you might want to enclose the front of your stall and have a 4' gate that can be left open or closed. That way the night before a show you can close him in his stall and not worry about him getting himself dirty in his paddock. Ive learned the rules of a horse include, what can go wrong will go wrong, if you have them groomed and ready to go, they WILL find a way to get dirty (especially true with palomino, pinto, white, and gray horses), and if theres a way to get hurt, they will find it, and you will have to spend lots of money to fix it, lol. another think you might want to consider is hog panels, they come in 16" lengths, are around $26 a piece, and work well for minis too.

Yea we were planing on a gate and hog panels...well they aren't actually Hog Panels. I think there called Stockade fencing. But i think were going to get portable sheep fencing. They are basically like the Horse Round Pen Panels but mini size. So they are portable, and then we might build a more sturdy pasture instead of electric fence.
