Carecredit

Do you have a back up plan if you have a big vet emergency? I am not recommending this, only making sure you know it is avaliable to you, if it is the right thing for you.

If you go to their web site it provides a lot of information and the time it takes to get approved is short.

I have it in my wallet, just in case.

Most vets and Universities take this, but MAKE sure yours will take it.

It is used just like a credit card and most times when you sign up, there is some type of special so to speak. When I signed up, for the first time I used it, it was interest free for 6 months, so paid it off before the 6 months and no charge.

Emergencies never come at a good time, especially high cost ones, and if making payments for you isn't a problem, maybe this could be something you could look at.

Not promoting this company, only promoting the health of your horse if there is no other option.

I do know of several members here who use it as well and has come in handy for them as well.

Like all credit cards, be smart, be informed and read.

Well said, Frankie!

Just wanted to add that I have used this in the case of an emergency surgery. Again be smart about it because it is a credit card, but in an emergency it is a good thing to know about!

That can be used for horses?

Yes, just make sure you check with vet, univeristy will accept it, most do.

Read all the fine print to make sure it is right for you. Very good to have for emergencies.

Just wanted to add that if your vet takes a credit card, most likely will take a CareCredit Card, it is used the same way. But I'd check first just in case.

We actually use it already for personal use in our family for our chiropractic care, so it's good to know that it can be used for horse stuff as well, thanks for the info!

Thanks! I didn't know about this type of service. I've bookmarked it to research further.

Great thing to post!! :aktion033:

you can use this for human doctors or animal doctors (dogs, cats horses etc) as long as they accept this card. most universities take it and actually the university of illinois was the one that told me about it. You always get 6 months interest free to pay it off but if you cant then regular interest charges apply.

I had to get Care Credit last year when I ended up with an emormous vet bill at the LSU Vet School. I was able to get 18 months interest free. Really helped me out. Like mentioned before, it can be used for people or animals if it is accepted.
