IN memory of a great horse

I just finally got around to makeing or starting a im memory page for my cousins horse. Here is what I kinda had found to start it. I will share the offical page when Jean B is done creating it. I got permission from my aunt to do this, and felt this horse really deserved it.

Magic Illusion's Fantasy

Jennifer and Illusion together have taken MANY national titles, including:

Illusion fought a hard battle with Cushings. In the end, Illusions lost out to the disease. Illusion was only here for 13 very short years, but he touched many peoples lives, and many people in the show world knew who Illusion was. Illusion was gelded as a tiny baby, so has no offspring to live on his show legacy, but the memorys and awards from him in his show days will never be forgotten. May you once again be the horse in heaven that many of us knew you were here on earth. We will forever miss your meal time whinneys that brought everybody up to the barn for grain.

Illusion was a show horse that everybody would of loved to have. He loved it all. He loved to jump, halter and anything else you would let him do. When it came to jumping, he was the kind of horse that gives it his all, and you better hang on as most of the time he could run faster then any of us could keep up. He knew when it was show time. If you let him, he would get in the trailer himself. He loved to go, and always had a look of disapointment on his face if he didnt get to go in the trailer when his buddies did.

Illusion, we couldnt of asked for more in a horse then you provided. Your time here on earth was way to short, but the best things seem to always end way to soon. You will never be forgotten.

Feb. 1992- April 2005

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to some-one here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are

intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...

Illusion lived about 2 years from the time of the first signs. IT was for his benifit that he was laid to rest this spring. He was no longer the horse he once was and you could tell that in his eyes.

Cushings is one nasty diesease and I hope to never have to see another horse go through that. I got to see exactly what it does to a horse, right down to the part where they start loseing there mind.

It was just a shame it had to happen to him.

I also must add to his show record. AT least a good 5 years ago he was in a driving accident that prevented him from being safely drove again, however at that time he was less then 10 points away from his driving hall of fame.

There will never be another horse like him. Him and his sister were a pair in the show ring, except he kept going when his sister retired to be a broodmare, however not before she to got her halter hall of fame. His dam is supirior dam, in hall of fame. SHe is done produceing however and is now 21 years old. Illusions sire is unknown. My aunt bought his dam as a open mare, and was suprised when he was out running around one Feb. morning. All that was known about his sire is that he was a yearling when he bred the mare. Illusions dam is also a pretty much unknown mare. She was bought as a AMHA mare, but the owners never followed up to get her foundation oversize papers at that time so then she was just a AMHR mare. Just goes to show you, that when it comes to showing, bloodlines are not everything as Illusion has none and look what he accomplished!

Wanted to add..............

I know this is safe to post as my cousin dont come here. THis is what I got her for xmas. I have a friend that does awsome paintings and what not so had her do this up for me.

Inside of it I will be putting one of his show slinkies, his show halter and maybe one of his Hall Of Fame plaques.

Here is a better pic, no the funny white stuff isnt really there, is a combo of the sun and the gloss over coat.

Ashley, I REALLY like that present your giving your cousin......she is lucky to have you for a relative and I'll bet anything she's going to hug you big time and tears will be flowing. You put ALOT of heart and love into that gift.....GREAT JOB!

You are so right here, and I don't know how I could ever go through that again. I do own 2 offspring from my Cushings/IR horse and while I have been told that Cushings is not genetic (IR can be, however), it is something that is in the back of my mind...

I am sorry for what your family went through, and bless Illusion for being pain-free.

What a beautiful horse he was. Although his life may not have been very long, at least he had a happy and sucessful one surrounded by people who loved him. I love your tribute, and I'm sure your cousin will absolutly love her gift. It is a great way for her to remember him, in all his glory. What a wonderful idea.
