I am so happy to FINALLY get this boy home, after one setback in transportation after another! He came from Bob and Stephanie Riedel of Horsesong Ranch in California, so a MAJOR thank you to both of you for putting up with the delays in getting him off your farm. The first haulers backed out, took my $850 and run, without ever letting me know! I hired a second hauler, paid them $750 to haul him for me. I had to get new health/export papers as the others were to expire before I could get him here. Then THEY too went "belly up" mid route and cancelled the rest of their trip and all future trips, but at least they were good enough to refund my money! As they say, "Third time's a charm", and I paid a third company $960, but alas, he FINALLY made it HOME!!!

This is Westwind BTU Crown Prince Dun Blest. Click on his name to read more about him and to see more pics of him. He is a red dun, and has the sweetest temperament, much like my BTU son I used to own. I just LOVE that in my horses, and especially the stallions, as I am easily intimidated by the stallions!

I got him home on Tuesday, and less than a 1/2 hour later, he was breeding his first mare. I have 8 mares to breed, and they were basically all in heat at once! One had just gone out of heat, and she wouldn't stand for him, but so far, he has bred 6 of the 8 mares! He's been a BUSY little man, and I am sure he's lovin' it!

I took him away from all the mares, and trimmed his hooves and body clipped him to get some pics of him....then he turned into a little MONSTER! I guess I should have brought along a mare for company! It was a major fight to get him and his feet trimmed! Lesson learned!

He also drives, but I no longer have a cart. I do still have my harness I won in the CMHR raffle at Nationals last year, so I might have to invest in another cart. I sold mine a couple years ago, vowing I would not need it any more.

He will also cross well with my BTU yearling granddaughters I have that were born here last year that I am keeping, and also with my new little buckskin colt I bought from Triple K, that is also a BTU grandson. I just LOVE those BTU lines!!

Congratulations Mona! I know your new guy, I believe he was owned by some people I know in Idaho, and was shown at the same shows I went to.

Wow Mona, I like him alot. He sure was worth all the trouble of getting him home.

OH WoW Mona, he is gorgeous, love that neck too. He's a half brother to a little cremello I used to own, Westwind BTU Crown Prince Kremer, he grew up beautifully too. I just love that stripe down your guys back! Congratulations on finally getting him home, it's a bummer that you had to go through so much for the transort. Doesn't it almost make you want to just make the trip yourself.

:aktion033: Congratulations Mona! Glad you found your boy after such a long search! He's a beauty! :aktion033:

Mona, I'm thrilled that he has such a wonderful new home. Of course, I'll bet he is really enjoying the pasture, the cool and all the mares.

Just remember if you get tired of him he can come back to California.

Mona, he is GORGEOUS!!!!

Congratulations on him!!!!

My BTU son, my show gelding Little Kings BT Bacardi Gold, is my favorite horse because of his heart. I have never had a horse who tries harder to be a good boy (and SMART! I call him Smarty Bacardi). I also see a lot of that in Erica's Gone and DunIT, a grandson of BTU. Hope to see it in Erica's Double Dipped, a grand daughter I haven't met yet

Mona,

He is a stunning fella! Glad you got him home safely. What a bummer on the "other" part of his travels home. I hope you will be able to recoup your original monies on hauling.

Good luck with '08 foals, cannot wait to see them.

Beth

I agree with the others.....gorgeous stallion! :aktion033: :aktion033:

Looks like it was well worth all the travel problems to finally get him home!
