of outdoor buckets? Just wondering anyone has any ideas? I have indoor heated ones but don't have power to the pasture. Thanks and enjoy your holiday!

Try setting the buckets inside of stacked tires stuffed with staw. The black will absorb the heat during the day and radiate it back at night. Won't stop the freezing completely, but will slow it down.

If the horses won't play with the buckets, try wrapping them in real heavy, thick insulation. Be sure to wrap the bottoms too.

Hope this helps.

Try putting the buckets behind a wind block.....also, a cover over the top of the stack of tires suggested, with a hole cut to allow access to the water....if the tub/bucket is large.

Something floating in the water helps some to allow the animals to easily break thru the top freeze.

If you live in the area of the Great Lakes/Canada, I don't know of a way to keep it from freezing in that cold.....except MOVE FAR SOUTH !!!
