This has probably already been asked, but I missed the post. I was wondering if there are any gaited miniature horses out there. I know tehy come in every possibly color, shape, and size, but can they be gaited?

Minis? I'm not sure. But I have a gaited shetland mare. And she's available.

I have seen several that are gaited. (Pacing)

They carry it through into their driving just like the standardbreds.

Our leopard stallion and many of his foals show a singlefoot gait (like a running walk), as do some older type full size appaloosas. Liz McMillan (yes that one) crossbred minis and walking horses, eventually getting gaited minis. When you see a horse with the "Walking M" prefix or WM suffix, they will be horses bred by Liz, many of them from Chianti bloodlines.

Laura, it's interesting you mention Chianti- the handful of gaited minis I've seen were Chianti descendants.

I couldn't tell you the gait though. I can't tell a rack from a singlefoot from a pace. Best I can do is identify a "pacey walk" LOL
