I want to find out if my 42in classic mare will drive before I spend lots of money on shetland equipment. Is there any way to find out if she will drive? I was told she would ride and drive. She does ride bare back with someone leading her. I haven't tried a saddle, I don't have anyone who is small enough to ride that knows how. As far as the driving, any ideas on how to tell if she will drive with out pony harness and cart? I would love her to drive!!! I plan to show her next year anyway, driving would be a great addition to her classes!! ANY IDEAS!!!??? Oh yeah she is 12 years old.

Several of my 42 inch and under Shetlands will actually fit in a B mini sized harness so you could try putting that on her and line driving her and see if she seems to know what's up.

i agree... i think my ASPR is 43" and he fits in my B sized mini harness quite nicely.. I also can kinda squeeze him into a 54" mini cart..it's a squeeze but i can do it. anyone around you have ponies that drives? maybe you can borrow a cart or something to use?

it is going to warm up a little so I think i will try that B mini harness on her. thanks for the help guys!!!
