What is my skin infected with now? I swear, I am plagued with some sort of itchy skin disease at least twice a year. Whether is is poison ivy, mosquito bites, eczema, karitosis. Lets see, I have eczema on my stomach (NOT FUN), Karitosis on my arms, two year ago for my 13th birthday I got poison ivy all over my face...

Now I have this weird stuff that I think is from the cold, dry weather. These little bumps started on the inside of my elbows, went up my arms, landed on my chest and other parts of my arms. What can I do? They only bother me at night.

Now that I just told everyone my weird medical problems :new_shocked:

do you have asthma?? sounds like the rash my son gets and its related to asthma. dr had us get that really exspensive no frangrance lotion. Nucerin?? it does help but he wont put it on everyday like hes supposed to

I have eczema too, and for me it causes a few diferent looking rashes. I get the scaly ones that sometimes are round and look too much like ringworm when you go to a small school in a farming town.

: I also get red, bumpy ones kinda like what you describe. I also get the nasty ones that get raw and crack. My Dr says they are ALL from my eczema. I used to worry that my ears would fall off because they cracked so bad at the base. The worst though is that I get it around my mouth now, and the cream I use bleaches out the color from my skin.

We might be related. I can't think of the last time that I was sick. I never get colds or the flu. HOWEVER, when it comes to skin problems...I'm a wreck.

I got poison ivy this past fall that didn't go away until I went to see a 2nd dang doctor after 2 months of suffering. I've got it again right now and have a dermatologist appointment for tomorrow. I hate going to the doctor, so I've been putting up with this for 3 weeks already.

I've also got this weird shingle-like rash that pops up on my forehead whenever I get too stressed out. It's pretty painful and spreads quickly. When I first came down with it in college (many moons ago), the doctors gave me 4 HIV tests because they couldn't believe that a healthy person could have so many sores that wouldn't heal. Took them forever to figure out how to treat it. Now, I have something to put on it that clears it up in a few days. I just have to remember to always keep a tube in my travel bags.

My wife likes to take me with her to do the chores. That way, she doesn't get bit by mosquitos because they all flock to me. When she does get bit, it's a little bump. When I do, it's a big lump.

There's a million different home-remedies for itching and rashes. Still, I'd suggest you find a dermatologist. Most of the things that work for everyone else won't help people like you and I.

My daughter is 13 and she has have little itchy bumps on her elbows, knees, hands, face for years they kind of come and go, dr saids is eczema. Thank goodness the ones on her face don't happen to often.

Dr gave us some kind of cream for it but I only have her use it when its bad cause its pretty yukky stuff.

I have found that using a GOOD lotion on the areas seems to help.

Also when my daugther gets a fever she breaks out in hives that look a lot like chicken poxs.

When she was a little baby and if she cried really hard she went through a stage where shes get hives to.

Some things are just that way and you never know why.

I get itchy between my fingers like small water blisters and I tell you I just cant stop scratching them when I get them. Seems to happen a lot after pulling weeds. Never had it until I moved to where I am now so I am thinking its something in the soil.

Last night was terrible. It got so itchy that I took Benadryl incase I was allergic to something. It was really bad, and I knew I couldn't it.

I think it is either from Eczema or I am allergic to down feathers which are in my jacket.

My mom went out and bought me a regime of oatmeal creams, lotions, and baths.

I don't really have any suggestions, but will share with you a product that a nurse practitioner told me to use. I get horrible, itchy welts from spider bites (at least we think that's what they are). I tried benadryl cream, every OTC anti-itch cream that you could think of with little to no relief. The NP recommended Sarna lotion and for me it's worked very well, it has a kind of a minty type smell (perhaps menthol). Might be worth a try. I also use when I get itchy dry skin due to weather.

Okay... QUESTION for those of you experienced with Eczema: Does it progressively get worse over time?? I have developed one quarter-sized spot front and center of my lower right leg that is red, bumpy and sometimes crazy itchy. At first I thought OUCH, razor burn so I stopped shaving around the area. When it didn't clear up I thought OH NO, ringworm?! Researched that Online but as the spot is not white in the middle eczema has come up as an alternative self-diagnosis. I'm worried. I can't think of anything that could have caused my skin to do this. Will it ever go away? If it does, will it come back? Will it spread?? I of course am keeping clean (as always) and do apply a good lotion and/or 99% aloe to the site daily. I am so scared it is going to turn ugly but can't afford to see a doctor about it right now...

Sorry, if its eczema, it won't go away on its own or with over the counter creams. You need a prescription cream, and most of them will clear up a spot like that in a few days. Mine is a cortico steroid cream and works great except that it can bleach my skin if I use it too often. Unfortunatley, eczema usually reoccurs often in the same places. I get spots on my legs and arms that are often round. Inside elbows and behind my knees get patches, and I used to get it at the base of the ears. Now I get it on my face around my mouth and a few places that you don't want to know about.

: Some of them are scaly red or white and itchy, some are red bumps that can be painful. try a web search for eczema and see if what you find looks like what you have. if it is though, you'll need a good prescription cream to get rid of it. And yes, it can get worse it untreated, as it may scab over and crack and bleed. Its really just no fun.

Just wanted to add, don't use a cream with any scents in it or it will cause it to scab over faster. i'd stick with something like an OLAY face cream, or something else with NO perfume in it. If you open it and it smells strong, even if it claims to be unscented, don't use it on eczema! it will only irritate it more. I don't know about the aloe, I don't think that would hurt, but it won't make it better either.

In the summer i got little pimples all over my wrists, and hands, inbetween my fingers, and some scarted on my lower arms as well. the doctor says it was eczema, or a reaction to peach fuzz (i worked at a fruit stand and it started when i started to sort threw the peachs. He gave me some creme and it went away. I was convinced it was a reaction to the peaches, but then after i stoped working there it came back! lucky i cought is fast this time and i used the creme i did not use before and it went away again. In the winter my skin is dry, and i get dry itchy spots as well, mostly on my arms, and this time on my legs too, but this year I don't notice the itch but it bleeds and scabs over and if i itch it, it gets really bad. I'm not a doctor but i think you eczema as well, it is very common, my mom has it, my dad has it, one of my brothers has it, and almost all my friends at school do too. Go to your doctor and he will tell you for sure. The stuff my doctor game me worked great, i had to put it on twice a day.
