OMG Frankie, I have a mare just like that, that also did a weird 'flip' this year over night- I have NO idea why. Have had her over four years- maybe 5 and she was so wild when I got her that if I even entered the gate to their lot, she was long gone and I really thought a couple of times she would try to go out over the back fence!!!
About two or three months ago, she suddenly quit running away when I go in to feed- and has actually taken food from my hand and let me touch her nose, but has not let me get as far as you have with your mare. Maybe it's something in the atmosphere eh???? We need more of it, what ever it is!!!
My mare seems so much more at peace this year- I have NO idea what made her decide this but I like it. That is great news and sounds like you have had a big break through with her!!! Awesome! She must be happy there!
