itunes?

Dumb question....in order to sign up for an iTunes account, do I have to download iTunes? I just got an iPhone & wasn't told until it arrived that I had to have an iTunes account in order to set it up. I looked all through the site & can't see any way to get an account without downloading the site first....and I cannot download the site because I'm on dial up & when I try to run it, it shows that it will take over 20 hours to download. I thought I'd check with you guys to see if there is something I'm missing!

I guess I will check with the local outlet & see if they can update the phone for me. If not it will be going back to the service provider & I'll have to go with something else.

Hope you can get it to work. I have an iPhone 4 and I love it. I recently got a 2nd cell phone for client calls and chose a Motorola Droid Bionic over another iPhone. I actually like the Droid Bionic better than the iPhone, which is a tall order given my iPhone is virtually a significant other to me at this point

so, if you do have to exchange it, at least know there are some outstanding Android options to choose from

. I'm sure either way, you'll be loving your new phone.

We have dial up also and I have an iPod. Yes we had to down load the site and it took forever. But we did it at night, and it loaded while we were sleeping. Not 20 hours but for sure 5 or 6. I know for me each song I down load takes a minimum of 10 minutes, some 15-20. But I know what to expect and I just walk away and do other things while it does it's thing! LOL! I would LOVE to have some type of high speed and wireless service.....
