Sorry I wasn't on much today, but had a terrible day  Got the kids off to school and went out to do chores. Hubby was at work, so I was home alone. I went to step off of the back porch and the next thing I remember my outside dog howling to wake me up.. We have four wooden steps off of our back porch and I bounced down all of the with buckets in toe. From the time I went out, and came back in it was over 10 min.. So I was unconscious for about ten min.. Then I was to affraid to drive, the way my head felt.. When my sister got home from work she came up around 7:00 this evening and made me go..I've had concusions before so, ireally wasn't to worried. So not only do I have a concusion, I banged up my elbow, knee, neck and back.. Saying I feel like a semi hit me is an understatement.. I made it all winter trucking back a nd forth to the barn in ice and didn't fall. No, I wipe out on wet steps.. So I am on light duty.. Plus they think I have a hair line fracuture in my elbow. I'll know more tom after they recheck the xrays..I am just glad no one saw me.. I am still a little embrassed over it.. Also with the buckets, I woke up to thinking I wet myself, then realized I was soaked everywhere. Thank goodness it wasn't freezing out or I would have been froze to the ground...

Just a update on my day, how was everyone elses?? Hubby has grounded me from using the back steps..

:bgrin Sorry, couldn't help but chuckle when you said you were glad no one saw you. I thought those exact thoughts when I slipped on the ice recently and smashed my head into the ground too! It was at our daughters place in town, and I was SOOOOOOO hoping her neighbors never saw me!

Hope you'll be feeling a little better in a few days.

OH Jodie, That must have been a sight. Couldn't help but chuckle a little imagining the whole thing. Good thing your outside dog was there and that your sister made you go to the ER. I hope you feel better soon... concusions aren't a good thing, especially when they make you nautious! Hang in there and feel better! :saludando:

OUCH!! That sounds painful!! Your fall was definitely much worse than mine last week!!

The door to our backyard is a regular wooden door thru the garage that goes out onto a huge cement patio. I was taking the dogs out (we have to have them on leashes because our back yard isnt fenced and they will leave the yard sometimes)...well, as soon as I got the door open (barely) I was flying thru the air and landed with a THUNK on my left wrist and elbow, then bounced the rest of me down. The dogs had seen a cat and I didnt even have a chance to let go of the leashes before I was flying!! :new_shocked:  Of course I started crying and I was bleeding and I had to go get the dogs in the yard. After it was all said and done...no broken bones, but major road rash and had to get a tetanus shot!

Am glad you are all right ...if abet sore! Hope you are feeling better soon!

Being sore is an understatement.. I can barely move today... And all of the bruises are popping out everywhere... I have a huge one across the center of my back (looks like a wooden step  ) Woke up to snow and ice

: Very scared to go out today.. My son said I looked liked a mugged old lady this morning-- bruised and all hunched up..Staying off of back porch!!

: Thanks for the get better wishes.. I just wish they would have given me the good stuff for pain, but thanks to the hit on the old noggin- no good stuff..

You listen and take it easy now! I put carpet from Home Depot on my wood steps when I took a slip a few years back. Cost about $11. Came in a roll about 24" wide. Just a thought.

:saludando: Thanks everyone for the replies.. Just got back from my check up with the Dr. I am aloud to drive, as the concusion is getting better. He had to put me on muscle relaxants as my back and neck are way to tight.. I can walk now!! :aktion033: :aktion033: On the mend, so thanks again for all the nice thoughts on my recovery..Have to have the elbow re xrayed, still not sure on that, but I think it is fine, it works, just sore..
