I have a feeling I am having a conflict between my CD burner and my Kodakeasy share software. Is that possible? Computer man fixed troubles I have had in general and re-loaded my CD burner software. All my pictures jumped into there instead of going into Kodak where they used to go. He has the CDBurner software for that and he's closed for the weekend of course.

My Kodak software says it is reaching an error so we then went to the repair sites and ran all of that and it still says I don't have the right hardware "searching for hardware" over and over is what I get. We have installed and un-installed I think a hundred times now and I can't figure this out.

The other thing is that he loaded McAfee on this too and the Kodak software also suggests that I remove any "security" software. I did not remove the McAffee. Do you think I should try that?

I am also having an LB problem as this site seems extremely slow to load the pages. The other sites load very fast but not LB. Anyone else?

OH heck, I've uninstalled everything but the kitchen sink. I guess I have to wait until Monday and get the computer man to operate on poor Maurice again.

Glad I have frequent flyer miles with my computer man.

I think what it means about the anti-virus software is to disable it while you are installing the new software. Sometimes they conflict when installing. I don't know much about 98. And yes LB is sometimes loading very slowly. That is not your computers fault.

Oh Marty I love your posts!! I do believe Maurice actually does have a kitchen sink attached to him!! I know little of computers beyond following the instructions but I do know when it says to uninstall all you need to do is tell the computer you have done it by disabling it, you do not actually have to dump it. Remember to switch it back on afterwards- I forgot, luckily it forgave me. The Forum is AWFUL at the moment, it is a mark of my love and respect for everyone that I am still here- I am not ususally this patient!!

I dont know if you did this I had a problem with mine awhile back sometimes you have to reinstall the drivers.

OH my gosh I don't have a driver! That's it!

I got a notice that says I don't have the proper hardware. aukkkkkkkk.

Computer man must have deleted my driver when he worked on Maurice because I have searched all my programs and I can't find any drivers. Oh that's just great.

I'll have to go on line to find out how to download the right driver now. This should be interesting since I don't have a clue but I'll go to www.download.com and see if they have anything there that will work

Thanks guys, yalls are smart!

Edit: oh good heavens. Been round and round all over Kodak.com and everywhere else looking for a driver for my Kodakeasyshare. If anyone has got any ideas where it tis hiding out please do share........

I had trouble with my computer in the past and after I got it fixed I couldn't get my camera and printer to work. If you have a cd that came with your camera reinstall it and the driver you need for your camera will be on it.

Good Luck!

Marty, If you didnt get it to work yet, I went to kodak.com on the left side it says downloads and drivers click on that, it will take you to a page with all the cameras click on yours then download it. There is one on the C.D. but when I did that to mine it still didnt work because it needed a updated driver. Hope you get it working. Kathy

Hey Kath, I have my software but the driver isn't on it. I don't get that. It used to have a zip file with the driver on the download but it doesn't automatically come up anymore. Boy am I confused.

I did go to that Kodak page where it said to download drivers/software and I went through the entire process. It loads the software, exact same thing that I have here, but no driver! I can't figure out why it says drivers if there's no driver. I did that twice and no driver came up to load. I then went to a multitude of driver pages in other sites but to load them they want you to "join their club".......

I did find a disk from my computer man that says video driver and that may be it but you have to do "run" and "type a path" and I don't have a clue about that one either. If I can hang on till Monday 12 noon when my computer man opens his doors I'll be sitting there on the stoop waiting for him, Maurice in arms, sweating profusely going through withdrawals by then I'm sure.

Marty, Is there a 800# for kodak? If so call thats what I ended up doing mine was for my epson printer, they should be able to walk you through it. My father- in- law thanks you for buying kodak, he has stock in it!!!!!!( His father worked there.)It is funny that the driver was not on the c.d. it usually gives you an option of what you want to load. I'm not very good with computers ,its just my last computer kept crashing so I would have to reload things. Got real tired of that and it was over 6 years old, so I sweet talked my hubby into a new one. Hope this helps, Kathy

It's pretty strange. I didn't have this problem when I loaded the software the first time. It automatically directed me to the Wizard, you know, that Wizard guy that does the Acrobat reader thingy and then it loading a win zip thingy and it was just was a no brainer. But now, when I load the software it doesn't do that, it just gives three choices:

Modify

Repair

Remove

and I've done all three over and over again. Very strange. Looking for that #800 now..........ugh. So hard being me I swear.

Just for fun if you go to that Kodak site that says download drivers/software it takes you round and round in circles and when you get to the end it finally and hit download drivers/software installation it goes through the process you still have no driver. Weird or what?

Marty you said something right at the beginning...After you had a tech guy redo somethings then when you Open a picture it opens with Internet Explorer instead of Kodak program.. Well heck that is easy to get back for Kodak to open..Go into the folder you have your pics in. Just go over the pic to Highlight it..~! Then use the Right Click of the Mouse Go to Open With...There then is a list to Tell The Computer What program top open pictures with...I am just guessing here since that has been changed to use IE And you are trying to open with The Kodak program the Computer Has NOT BEEN told to use the Kodak Program to open Pictures since it was in the shop being worked on...

OK for those following this saga: I just heard back from Kodak. They would like to inform me that there is NO driver for my particular camera so I can stop looking for it now.........

So my problem must be then something other than not having a driver. No duh.

My computer man must have forgotten to do something to enable the soft ware from loading. Just saw his wife in the grocery store and he knows I'm coming in now all shaking from weekend withdrawals and on Halloween no less, lucky him.

Alas, thou must have yet another hill to climb.
