I have a mare that has been off her feed a few days. Figured she maybe has not drank enough water during this super cold week. Theres a big snow drift near the heated water bucket.....so she is probably tooo lazy to go and drink. I stalled her in the barn and gave soaked beet pulp and alfalfa cubes for the last 4 days.

She finally had a good amout of poo in her stall overnight.

I had given her all the banamine I had, so needed to go the vet to get some more. With foaling season around the corner....I always like to have plenty of Rx around.

Anyway....reason for this post is the Vet does canine rescue from Breeding kennels.

While waiting on the vet to get my Rx I saw an adorable piebald doxie on the board for adoption. Having 2 long haired doxies of my own, I inquired.

The receptionist said, you need to see this cute lil dapple female......

I just had to have her!

She is a 9 mo old long hair dapple female. I will take her back next week to be spay.

I could not leave with out her. She was the sweetest lil girl ever. They do have 2 others available for adoption, if anyone is interested. I can give you the vets name and number....in Wichita Ks.

Introducing.... Sparkle (she has one blue eye). (and Newton)

I am sooo happy to be able to rescue such a lil darling. Happy New Year to me!
