I was just looking at my seed catalog and got to thinking about kiwi's.

I would like to grow some if they will grow here right on the coast of way north California?

I love fruit but it's hard to grow alot of them here. Our summers are pretty cool high 60's low 70's. Berries, plums, apples, all do well and a peach called "Frost" does pretty good. Oh ya pears do ok to.

Anyone know of other fruits that may do will in my area?

Well all of a sudden I am getting real sleepy---night all.

Kiwis are supposed to be hardy enough for Idaho, so I imagine they'd do well there. Pawpaws too. If you can grow peaches, you can probably grow other stone fruit as well; cherries, plums, apricots.

I even have a kumquat tree (patio sized), but he comes in during the winter. Are you in a zone where you can grow citrus? If you can grow citrus, than you could probably also grow persimmmmmmmmons (mmmm, cookies) and pomegranets. I lived quite a bit south of you in CA, but those are some of the things we grew down there.

I'm going to go raid the fruit basket we got for Christmas now.
