I am new to the AMHR shows. I have a small pony that I have driven in the past at Pinto shows and I have a really nice meadowbrook cart for her. I have recently purchased a 36.5 inch miniature gelding that I would like to show AMHR but I have gotten mixed reviews as to weather my cart is legal for AMHR. I will most likely show him in the country pleasure or western country pleasure classes. I have included a photo of my cart. Any suggestions on weather this cart would be legal or if it would be possible to make it legal would be greatly appreciated! I am hoping I don't have to invest in a new cart. Thanks in advance!

I don't see anything that would make this cart illegal for pleasure classes. What makes people say they don't think it is legal?

What I would do would be to take the fenders off. It will reduce a little (not a lot) of weight and it will be more accepted but will stand out against the standard black 2 wheeled carts. Its not legal for roadster but legal for Country Pleasure or Western Country Pleasure.

As far as "legal" it is fine. The problem with wooden wheels is the way they dig into the dirt. Some shows are held at fairgrounds and they fail to work the ground and pack it. In which case I know from experience that a 34" mini has problems backing a wooden wheel cart even if they can manage to pull it around the arena.

Use Breeching for backing, which is optional in Country and Western

Definitely legal, better for WCP than CP, but typically not done. Doesn't mean you CAN'T use it! Go have fun!

BEAUTIFUL cart, BTW!!!

Thank you everyone for your feedback, it was very helpful!! Looking forward to driving my new little guy!!
