Ok....Big horses first I guess!

Shog, 28 yr old retired TB X gelding, 16.2hh. He actually was trained to drive at 26 and has competed in two driving competions, a CDE and a pleasure show. He was an eventing horse and wanted something to do....so he learned to drive! This is one of his favorite things to do, even though now it is limited to ocassional walks around the block.

This is using a friend's borrowed marathon carriage, before we got ours.

Ref, 7 yr old Paint X mare. We have had her from birth, I trained her to ride and drive. She has competed in several competitions. She is a great pleasure drive...quiet and happy to do a nice relaxed drive.

This is at a (very) muddy competition in Feb of this year, with our marathon carriage:

And last but not least, Gabriel. He is not trained yet, but will be next summer. He is a 2 yr old Paint/Clydesdale cross that should make a great riding/driving horse. He will be started open bridle, but is modeling his new russet harness!

That makes three out of our four horses that drive(or will).

And now the minis!

Fascination, 10 yr old sooty buckskin pinto mare, 35". She is my main driving horse....so much fun! We have entered several competitions since I bought her two(almost three!) years ago. And of course, she usually does excellent! Except when there are horse-eating plywood cows on course or I mess up!

And she's been a tandem leader...actually competed in Mighty Minis CDE like that...and got first(ok, we were the only one in our class..). The wheeler is a friend's horse, Elvis, as is the cart.

The wheeler is Ref.

And a tandem wheeler....leader to be introduced.

Dan...4 yr old chestnut sabino gelding, 33.25". He has driven in a few competitions, and done well, bringing home a Championship, and some first places. He is the leader up above. Has also done a little bit of wheeler as well.

Again, last but not least, Pippin! He is a yearling chestnut colt, 25.5". I think he will begin training next year(will be very easy to train). So not technically a driving horse yet.

The third is Shadow he is such a fun horse to drive. He has won the amateur roadster class at nationals twice and I trained him myself.

Hi,

We have taught many horses to drive in the last 5 years. This is the first and the easiest one we have ever had. Almost anyone can drive him with a little instruction. His name is Mamas Boy and he is one of our favorites. Above, Dave is giving Rachel a ride. (I think she is enjoying it) Below, Dave drives him in a show and at a parade (warming him up a bit

) and then my brother drives him and gives his boy a ride.

Alright, I'll contribute mine. Here are some shots I had lying around on the internet. Nothing too recent I'm afraid, and all are of my five year old AMHR/AMHA gelding Arrowstar's Dakota.

Kody as a four year old stallion pictured during his second time under cart, driven by the lady I bought him from.

Still a stallion- pulling a borrowed and oversized cart at Happs.
