Are these moms trying to relive how they wanted their childhood to be? Tonight's episode included giving a 6YO Diet Mt Dew to wake up for the pageant, Mom chain smoking while she's making the costumes, and snapping and snarling at their girls. Sounds like fun to me

All I can think of is Jon Benet.

i've watched this several times and been absolutely appalled at the behavior of many of the moms and MOST of the little girls. they appear to be spoiled rotten brats.

what mother in her right mind lets her SIX YEAR OLD daughter shave her legs???

do six year old girls even HAVE hair on their legs???

I haven't watched that one, but do watch Toddlers & Tiaras on TLC. I love it!!! I'm not sure if the moms and girls behave differently on the two shows, but I find it fascinating. I haven't seen anything I consider appalling. It's just really an interesting show (at least to me)

I watch the toddlers and tiaras one too. I think the girls on there aren't as single minded into winning. But geez, its generally the dads that are the bad ones! There is one dad that was so mad his kid didn't win.

Yes, Mia has BLACK hair on her legs and NO, I do not let or WANT her to shave. :DOH!

I watch both the toddlers one and the Little Miss Perfect one I like Jill and somewhat fascinated. While it is not my cup of tea I have to admit I do not find the lengths some parents go to for their children to win much different then what I have seen at baseball and football games, or soccer and cheerleading and yes I have seen plenty of it at horse shows as well.

I think pagents do have some good points and I am sure those that love to participate in them do get alot out of them. I do think it is funny that somehow the majority seems to think it is ok to take a 3 month old foal and clip him in a 30 blade, razor or clip his muzzle in a 50 blade goop him up with tons of "makeup" and parade him around for judges while he is being taken away from his mom- and do not see the parallel with beauty pagents.

I guess whatever sport or competition you are in the the measures taken and done seem quite normal to those on the inside doing it and kinda silly or wrong to those who are not involved

Ego does very strange things to people when it takes over anything that is competitive
