and that you are being bombarded by 90 mph gusts, massive rain and power outages over there. Praying that you are safe and that all is well!!!

My guess is that she still doesn't have power. I am north of Seattle and we lost power at 9:30 am this morning and JUST got it back on at 6:00 pm. And we only had 60 mph winds. I lived not far from Astoria for many years until just 6 months ago and while 90 mps is a TERRIBLE wind, it is surely something they see on an almost annual basis and are well equipped to recover from fairly quickly. We always laughed that anyplace else they would call it a hurricane, but to us it was just a winter storm!

Come back soon Liz! I want to hear how Cherry Bomb is doing!!

I have not talked with her today, but did last night. about midnight my time. She was fine, but did say she could have power outages, and she has had a hard time keeping her internet connection.

Oh, sure hope everything is okay...Gramma Pony...can you check on Liz for us, please and report back?

Just talked to Liz on the phone. Cherry has not foaled, still hanging on the same. She has been without power since 2 am and hopes to have it back on around 9 tonight. So hopefully she will be on here soon to fill you all in.

Thanks for the update on Liz..... Have been thinking about her on and off all day!

OMG!! Yes please check in!! We have only spoken a few times but you've been nothing but nice to me and I sure do care if you're OK or not!! Please check in ASAP!

I am here! Finally!

About midnight last night they turned on our power (we were last in line since we are about four houses at the very tip of the service connection, and they had to get everyone else before us), but we had already gone to bed, bored with the dark and cold! *LOL*

And Cherry Bomb keeps me guessing! She was seeming a lot closer on Friday, but her bag sort of went down a little when she was turned out for the day, and her milk is still testing high pH and mid range Hardness (thanks, Kim, for the strips!). Not having the camera was no fun, though!

We did have one heck of a storm, the worst, yet, and we've had some doozies, already.

We lost an alder tree in our lower pasture, but luckily it came towards our house and not the neighbor's side since it would have destroyed the fence over there. It didn't come near our house, just in our direction, to clarify. We don't have any large trees that could get us anymore. Not with windstorms like this being fairly common.

It was pretty interesting having almost 24 hours without power, though. This is the longest our power has been out for about four years. Back in 2001 or so, we had four days without. Glad it wasn't that long this time!

Thanks for thinking of us, I will definitely update when I think we're going to have a foal or we have had one, whichever comes first!!

Hope noone in the area had significant damage.

Liz M.

I'm glad to hear all is well.

We were worried about all the storm warnings we received, especially with all the alders we've lost inprevious winds, but while it seemed to hit everyone else in the Scappoose/St. Helens area, we were protected by the ridge behind us and did not experience any wind at all.

Now it's supposed to be dry for a few days...or so they tell us.

:aktion033: Hey Liz, glad you got your power back. I was concerned because the news was reporting this storm as one of the worst in years.

Glad you didn't have that foal during the chaos!!!
