If anyone attended the Lolli Bros. Sale on Saturday, Sept. 26, I would like to get the prices of a few horses.
I was there too and your prices are correct as far as I can see and yes the one colt was a dwarf but the most minimal I have ever seen, I didnt think he was until they removed his blankets but then you could see it a little. I was disgusted in the prices they brought too, I find it sad that I couldnt get even near that amount for the one colt I soldJust want to make sure - it IS o.k. to post about the auction AFTER it's over, right? I don't want to get in trouble with LB!!
I was there, but did NOT write down prices this time.I'll try to hit a few tho... There were 2 "dwarfs" that sold. 1st one was around $1700! My friend swore it wasn't a dwarf, and that the sellers just advertised it that way for more $$!!! Don't know about that, but if that's true, that's really sad. 2nd dwarf was obviously a dwarf, and sold for close to the same amount. Both paints.
On the average, prices were VERY low. I remember a nice paint, young, bred mare, double registered (A & R), for a little over $300! Of course there were a few that really shot up. A SUPER LOUD black/wt paint stallion (very tiny and petite) for $2700 I think. Then a close duplicate mare from same seller for about same price. Probably, I'd say the average price was $350-$450, but anyone feel free to correct me. Finally, there were several registered colts at the end that they struggled to break $100 on. The painted ones were around $125. I bought a VERY well bred, correct, registered solid bay colt for $40, just 'cause I couldn't stand to see him go for that. Also bought a LOUD sorrel paint yearling colt w/blue eyes and decent papers for $150.
Anyway, it seems the fall sale is really a buyers' market. You all know, no one wants to over winter extras.Prices should be back up some for their December sale, and up even more in the spring if they follow the usual trends. We'll see.
