An aside on side saddles
If you ever choose to dabble, please be so very careful about where you spend your money and what you buy. The easily-available commercial side saddles from Hilason or similar are HORRIBLE. Built on normal trees, parts in the wrong places, and don't actually fit horses. Real sidesaddles are harder to find, especially more wide saddles for our more modern animals. I tried, I wanted to ride aside so bad. I lost THOUSANDS trying to do it the right way and was eventually sold a broken saddle from a very respected seller in the states. I quit trying after that.
