14" trout.. we knew we had some big ones in there, along with our 8" gold fish

Was stocked about 18 years ago with trout, and 10 years ago with tiny gold fish..

Hubby decided to check the rest of the pond, and found this under the ice...

Wow... time to get your fishing poles!!! And of course the dog thought it smelled good, LOL
 
So... how ya goin to fix that? sauted with butter and lemon? I wonder how many gold fish you have left?
 
the second one is not a catfish, it looks to be a carp. Catfish do not have scales. Actually the first one also looks like a carp just more decomposed. ( going by the mouth and what looks like large scales)

Thanks for the education, we are not fishing people, I just thought with the whiskers, cat and the other does look different? but again thanks it is decomposing....

Carp can get pretty large. They are considered a "trash fish" since they are not eaten ( too bony)

Goldfish and koi are in the same family .

Carp also are tough as nails, they can live in water with very low O2 content.
