Hi, I used to have a receipe for meatballs in this awsome sauce but lost it I guess when I moved.

I think I got it from a Reader's Digest magazine. I have done searches for it on the net and although many are simular it is not the same.

All I know for sure is, it had Heinz Chili Sauce, pineapple, prepared mustard, soy sauce and I think vinegar.

I can't remember what else went in it

I know it wasn't a receipe with Jelly or Cranberry in it as most have.

Does anyone here know a meatball receipe with these ingredients in it?

Thanks for your help!

Sorry, Niki, I don't have the one you're looking for. BUT, just in case you want to try a new one, this one is excellent:

2 lbs ground beef

1 package onion soup mix

1 cup bread or cracker crumbs

2 tablespoons worchestershire sauce

1 can evaporated milk

Mix ingredients, form into balls cook until done. My recipe says to broil them, but I've always done them in the pan the old fashioned way.

Mix in a saucepan on the stove and cook thoroughly:

2 cups catsup

1 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce

I usually take this to potlucks, so make the meatballs and put them in a crock pot. Pour the sauce over them and just let them sit on low until you need them, stirring gently once in a while to keep everybody covered.

Yum!

This is the recipe that I am always asked to bring along to potlucks.

The sauce is the one with the cranberry sauce though.......

It's the meatballs that are so good. I'm not much of a sauce person although it seems

I had a sauce with pineapple in it at one time, although I'm not finding it.

It was more of a teriyaki type flavor.

Meatballs

1 1/2# lean gr. beef (I've used turkey and/or chicken with the same results)

2 large eggs

1 cup dry breadcrumbs

1/3 cup each Minced parlsey, minced onion, catsup

1 T Horseradish

Equivalent of: 1 clove minced garlic

Bake at 450 degrees till lightly browned, stir once - Approx 15 minute

Sauce:

1 can cranberry sauce

1 12oz jar chili sauce

2 T brown sugar

This isn't the one you are looking for but it has always met rave reviews and it's very easy to make.

PORCUPINE BALLS

1 lb ground beef

1 onion chopped finely

1/2 cup approx of instant rice

salt and pepper to taste

dash of worchestershire sauce

roll into balls and place in casserole dish

1 can tomato soup

1/2 can of soup tin of water

dash of worcestershire sauce

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Stir the soup mixture together and pour over meatballs so meatballs are covered. Cover casserole dish and bake at 350 for 45 min then take off cover, turn the meatballs over and bake another 15min with cover off.

Here's mine............and I'm married to a full Italian who loves them.......

I made this up after being married to a fussy eater! And it's EASY!

Mix into a large Bowl ---

2 lbs lean ground beef

1/3 cup parmesan cheese

2 eggs

1/3 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs

1 heaping Tablespoon oregano

1 heaping Tablespoon basil

1/8th to 1/4th tsp garlic powder (depending on how much you like garlic)

Hand "squish" the mixture........Form into large meatballs and place them into muffin tins. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.

Drop some of them into your simmering Red Sauce for a few minutes before serving over pasta. If any are left over, they are great for meatball sandwiches.

PS: Sorry it isn't the type of meatballs you were probably looking for...........but they are good.)
