Lost my dad this past week

I am so sorry for your loss. You were truly blessed to have your Dad as long as you did. You will cherish every memory you have of him, some days it will be easy and some unbearable. You will never forget but time does help ease the pain. My Dad died when he was 48, he has been gone from me for 30 years, and my Mom 17 years. Like Charlene said...watch for signs, they will be there. (((hugs)))

I am so sorry for your loss. Lost my dad 20 years ago, just before I got married. How do you get through it? First you do one minute, then 2. Its time. Doesnt make it better, doesnt make the pain go away, but it lets you deal with it. Hugs!

I am so very sorry. I can only imagine how you are feeling. Actually it is my biggest fear losing my father. He is 71 now and I honestly worry about it every single day.My heart goes out to you and your family

My Dad is 71 also, and I just found him literally about 7 years ago. I treasure every single day and moment I get to spend with him. Knowing he walked through hard times (like this recession) I have gained much wisdom from him and learned a ton about using what you have.

I moved home, well what we now call home after 911 and I live just down the road from him and his second wife. It's been an adventure and a treasure. I wouldn't change it for anything.

My deepest condolences and my prayers sent to you for healing of your heart. Do what makes you feel good - it sounds like you both shared the wonderment of miniature horses. What a beautiful thing to share.

Thank you all for your insights, thoughts and prayers. We did share so many wonderful times. I lived with him the last 12 years after Mom died, so we were very close and I would not give up those years for anything. I have to keep remembering all those things - going to Nationals, sales, shows, the casino! and so many other things we both enjoyed. I am so thankful for Lil' Beginnings to post these as it doesn't seem like I am so alone. Thank you again, Ruth

I lost my father in 1997 and now the memories have taken the place of the hurt. Hopefully some day in the future that will be the way it is for you too.

I understand and I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad one year ago on NY day. It broke my heart . My Dad was the only one in my life that listened and understood.

I hope that time heals quickly you so that his memories bring you happiness. The pain never leaves, but somehow you learn to deal with it.
