Meet Savannah!
This beautiful 10 year old young lady and I have been corresponding via e-mail regarding our mini horses. Little did we know, we lived a mile from each other! Savannah was kind enough to send two letters with beautiful drawings of horses and very kind notes. Well, we finally met on Sunday and she kept us company for nearly five hours.....seemed like only one.
She is so gifted with these animals, as she can halter them without direction and get one out of the pasture without the others trying to barge their way through the gate! Gotta love that!
When we built our home on 25 acres, complete with a horse barn, it was with the idea to start a therapeutic riding program for special needs children (like our autistic son). Suffice to say, a closed head injury nixed that idea, and it seems that God has this place for mentorship for folks new to horses.
I had a wonderful time with Savannah and her presence encourages me to take time to brush/fuss over horses....not just "doing chores". There's a sign I keep in my kitchen which says...
To the world you may be one person. To one person, you may be the world!
Needless to say, I feel blessed to have met sweet Savannah!
