I have a friend that just started making tack... he used to work under a saddle maker. I just had him make a gorgeous work bridle for my mini... he charged me $30! I am going to try to convince him he needs to make more mini and pony bridles and harness and such.
My mare bridle is from Lutke... but the price for what you get vs. workmanship is way too much. It is biothane (no cutting straps, no edging, no dying) which warps and doesn't fit well to begin with. Just not impressed. I want a nice bridle so will probably have my friend make one. I don't mind paying money, but needs to have the craftsmanship to reflect the price. I've done some leatherwork so I appreciate a good piece of tack.
Bits... I got at Show Stopper Tack... excellent bits for the price here is the link:
Pony Weymouth bits
Lutke charges $50 for a bit so I would stay away from that!!!
I am interested to see more on this thread, maybe somewhere I haven't discovered yet.
