I know this may sound strange. But I know some people keep track of their mares foaling dates and times.

I have a mare that has given birth both times about noon. I will be breeding her 4 year daughter this year and am wondering when the time comes if I will be blessed with another noon time delivery.

Thanks,

I believe it's just coincidence that your mare foaled the same time twice. We kept records on mares for YEARS as to their foaling times etc. Never found any coordination in their own foaling times, much less their daughters. It would be nice if it were that predictable!

I'm with Little Wee-- the same mare here may foal in the mid afternoon one year, then first thing in the morning the next, then the middle of the night. No schedules at all, lol! The majority of my foals seem to be born between nine and ten pm, I think because everything has quieted down, the last evening check has been done (little do the mares know they are being "spied on" via camera!) and the mares figure they can relax and have their foal. But I still get foals at any time of the day or night. The one constant is that you never know!

Thanks for your replies.

I guess my mares are not the normal ones.

Nellie has had 2 foals here, the first one about 1:30 am and the second about 2:30 am.

Star Brite has had 2 foals for us also, her first between 4-6 am and the second at 1:17 am. I figured the first one she was just getting used to us and did not want us around.
