Went to the Rose Festival yesterday and they had an Exotic animal exibit there. You could get your pic taken with a few of them and I chose this Yellow Python! It weighs 100 lbs! You can't even see how long it is, because of how it curled aound me, but it was at least 8 ft long I'm guessing....I wanted to kiss it, but I figured that might have been a little much....LOL!!

Gorgeous. They are such pretty snakes. I held one like that in NYC a few years back. The power in those muscles is awesome.

It is a beautiful snake! My kids used to have ball pythons but never a snake that big!

You're one brave lady! I don't even like snake skin boots!

Oh you Burmese Pythons are really gentle giants... I know I personally dont care for snakes but I find Burmese Pythons pretty neat...however I must say 8 feet is nothing compared to the one I held. The one I held was a female and she was 14ft. Females they say are typically bigger than males....Her mate was 11 ft long though. And its neat how they are considered albinos, those yellow ones....These guys are pretty neat thats for sure,,,,

I am so jealous right now!!! I absolutely love snakes, they are gorgeous and I love the way they feel

I wouldn't mind owning a snake either...except for the fact that I would have to feed it a live animal...and I couldn't do that...LOL!

Double Jealous!!!!

First off, since I moved to the east side of the state I miss stuff like Rose Festival!!!! I also LOVE snakes!!!! Was it OMSI That had them there? I got to play with one of thier albino pythons when I was about 8 years old. For some reason the thing loved me, and til then I was terrified of them (Grandma told me they were scary) but for some reason it kept seeking me out and I have loved them ever since.

Awesome pic!!!!! Thanks for sharing.

I currently own 15 snakes. I posted a thread about them complete with photos if you hope to search for it..

Anyway,

I had loved snakes for years, but never exactly wanted to feed live rodents (though I could, if I had to)...... ALL of my snakes I converted to feeding frozen rodents. I work at a Petco store and we have a large assortment of sizes to fit each snake's needs.. I ONLY feed my snakes frozen now.. Of course I defrost them in my kitchen sink (I bleach the sink afterwards) and they are good to go and ready to eat.. some times I heat the rodent up with a hair dryer too. Once you get over the fact it's a dead rodent it really isn't all that bad.

Many snakes I get/bought have came to me eating live only and it is easy to convert as long as you prepare the rodent right..

When you get a snake, I will help you with tips! *wink*
