My search has ended. This is our new boy. It took a while for me decide and the owner came down on his price so I had to get him. I will finally be able to ride. It has been so long. I find so much peace when I ride.

Introducing Charming The Storm 1997 16 1/2 hand TB/QH gelding. Loves children. Rides English and Western. That's me riding.

congrats he is adorable. I feel your pain and excitment riding for the first couple of times in years. It is funny how your mind knows what to do and your body just cant seem to follow suit

How fun will this be bonding with a new best friend. Congratulations. Maxine PS He's very handsome.

I am glad that you got your horse. Congratulations.

WOW! He's a beauty! I did his pedigree on www.allbreedpedigree.com and he's got quite the nice lines. I've always loved Vice Regent!

Congratulations again on Trevor!!! He's beautiful and you're going to have so much fun with the new boy!!!

He's gorgeous! He's just so classy looking, I had a TB as a kid that looked so much like him it breaks my heart.

Thank you everyone. Lisa- that pedigree site is unreal. I can't believe how far back his TB generaltions are. That's amazing.

I'm getting really excited.

Trevor is home. Wow, we had an eventful New Years Day. Drove 40 minutes to the farm to pick him up. Go to load Trevor and he doesn't load. I was fuming mad. Madder than a hornet as I like to say. We tried and tried........ Called a friend of mine and her husband. She came right away. Almost a 2 hour drive Jerry(her husband) does Clinton Anderson training. Within 20 minutes Trevor was loading by himself. No whips, no yelling, no mishandling. Walked right on that dag gone trailer. They followed us all the way home and he worked with him at home loading as well. I was no match for a 16 hander that said nope not gonna happen. I'm not getting on the trailer. Once he got on he was really nervous to tie so there has been something bad that happened somewhere in is life. The prior owner said he was ringing with sweat the first time they brought him home. Guess I will never know.

We got to that farm to pick him up at 10:30. We tried for about a half an hour to load. From past experiences I knew at this point I wasn't going to get anywhere and I wasn't going to make things worse by trying to force him on. We drove around to find something to eat and to wait for my friends for 2 hours and then it took until 4:30 before Jerry felt Trevor could haul safely. Caleb( our 18 month old son) was a trooper. Thank goodness we had food, drinks and a large dressing room in the trailer while we were waiting for my friends to come. He actually enjoyed watching the horse loading and unloading.......

Trevor is now settled in a paddock next to my QH mare. She hadn't been around another full size horse in 6 years. She was an absolute nut. They are now playing kissy face across the fence. Man am I glad things have settled down.

Made me so thankful that when a mini doesn't load it's not too hard to get them on.
