Not a good start to a New Year.

Hubby cleaning the barn and came in to get something downstairs. I looked out the door because I seen a car slowing down, Lady pulled in the drive way I could see our poor Tobey laying on the road, Lady said she could not drive by and let such a beautiful animal lay there. Car ahead must of hit him.

Thanked the Lady with tears in her and my eyes and ran and called hubby.

He rushed upstairs and as he approached I told him no way he was alive, he was ripped open.

Again a tragic accident and we should have known better. Husband in tears said no more dogs for him.

The Collies was his pride and joy.

Poor Lady our other collie 6 years old, is really upset, she is laying beside me as I am writing this.

Husband talking what if , why didn't I, I should have, I said look no more What If's.

We loved him while he was here and enjoyed every minute. Tears running down both our eyes.

In Loving Memory Tobey Rest in peace and enjoying running free.

He was all puppy never had a chance to grow up.

Just needed to share :new_shocked:

Such a shame for such a beautiful pup.

I understand how your husband feels. I lost my pup this past summer and still can't bring myself to get another one.

So sorry for your loss.

Oh Mary and Glen so sorry to read about the loss of your beautiful dog. Hugs sent your way.

same thing happened to us in october... darn dogs, love them to pieces but WHY CAN'T THEY STAY IN THE YARD where they are safe??? ours dug under the gate...

so nice of the lady to stop, that also happened here, the person who hit the dog did not bother to stop, it was the next one along... one can only hope they just didn't realize, otherwise it's a sad statement on humanity...

give your husband a big hug, sounds like he needs it, poor guy.

Oh my! I am so very sorry.

I AM SO SORRY...WE LOST A PUP TO THE ROAD THIS SUMMER...I STILL CAN'T BARE TO THINK ABOUT IT...WE NOW HAVE A BIG FENCE UP, IT WAS A TERRIBLE LESSON FOR US. I AM SO SAD YOU HAD TO GO THROUGH THIS. NIKKI

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know what you mean about thoughts going through your head what if, why did it happen. A few years ago, we lost our sheltie in our yard. I had let them out for one more bathroom break before bed. We were not expecting any visitors. Then all the sudden one of my daughters friends decided to come over, flying up the driveway and hit her, she was killed instantly. I blame myself you letting her out for the one last time, but hind sight is always 20/20.

My prayers are with you.
