What joy to meet Tami (Bokamp) & Dennis Zimmerman !

I had a wonderful opportunity to make the acquaintance of Tami & Dennis Zimmerman of Oak Park Miniatures (Marshall, WI) ..... as we met at their farm to await our transporter, Phyllis Alexander!

WOW, talk about a well-organized, clean operation AND beautiful, happy horses. What really touched my heart is Tami maintains a wonderful pasture of retired broodmares....gotta love a person with a heart like that! Think I'll chase her down and make her both mini mentor and friend!

Because our trailer had a major mechanical problem, Ghost and I had an opportunity to keep each other company in the front cabin of the truck. If you'll remember, Ghost is the bald-face palomino who was abused, thus never trusting people. Well, on the 2-1/2 journey, this wonderful horse kept KISSING MY SHOULDER, as we enjoyed country tunes. When Ghost was loaded on the big transport and placed in her stall, I cried like a baby! This beautiful horse hid her love for me....never knew she trusted this old hag.

Tami snapped these photos when we arrived:

Thanks for allowing me to share these bittersweet memories.

I haven't met Tami in person, but I am eagerly awaiting my filly that Phyllis is bringing from Tami's. Phyllis just called and she will be here this morning with her. I cannot wait, Tami has been so nice to deal with.

Tami is just wonderful been a great friend and a mentor and she lets me take "claim" on some of her horses what more could a girl ask for in a friend

I met Tami this fall when I was in Madison on a business trip. She is fantastic and has very beautiful and healthy minis.

I've never seen a mini ride in the cab of a truck before. Before I got a trailer I used my minivan. It was always funny to see people's expression when I would be going through a town or a toll booth and they'd hear the horse whinny from inside the minivan.

HI Cindy

Great pictures!!

We have never used the back seat of a pick up to haul Mini's, but I remember when we bought Jet Stream and his sister almost 24 years ago,

We had a Ford Bronco and hauled them both in the back of it. They both rode beautifully and we definatley had a few people looking

, thanks Cindy and everyone. It was a great pleasure to meet you and we will have to get together more often!!! I had so much fun.

Tarah, let me know when Sassy gets there. It just isn't right to walk in the barn and not have her looking at me as I enter. I sure do miss her.

Lisa, wish you didn't live so far away, but maybe someday we will get to meet!!

Hi Vic!!!

Tami,

Sassy is here!!!! I love her, she is awesome. I turned her out in the round pen and she is tearing it up. She is everything I wanted, I can't wait until show season.

thank you!

Hi!! WOW!! I really feel warm and fuzzy reading this all about Tami!!! How awsome! I "just" recently purchased a mare from her "Mia". She's still at Tami's til' the 16th of January. Then she'll be headed to Nebraska to her new home!! I REALLY wanted to make the trip myself! I would have (and hopefully someday) get the chance to meet Tami!! Just by talking to her on the phone and e-mails.... she sounds like the greatest person! Makes it all worth while!!! I'm SOOO excited!!

Cindy,

Those pictures of Ghost are adorable!! How cool that she rode in the truck with you! I Love the head shot of Ghost with the American flag on the window of your truck.

Ghost is so lucky that she found you and has learned to trust again. I know you will miss her but she sounds as if she is going to a wonderful home.
