I'm sure this topic came up already, but I have a newfound love with the small and the beautiful!

Please post photo's of your TINY miniature horses! Would love to hear how tall/small they measured when they were born, if you know!

This is always a nice thread. :bgrin

Rowdy was 16.5 at birth.

Only 6.5 months at 24"

Hope he stays around 28"

there is a guy who drives a pair of black mare in our local 4th of july parade every year and they HAVE to be under 28". They make all the other mini horses in the parade look big. hehe.

My daughter loves them, she keeps saying she would like to have a pair like that. I told her to start saving up her money.

I'd love to have one of the really tiny ones some day but for my driving horse I will stick to the 32"-34" range. I love seeing the pictures of the really tiny ones, especially if you have something in the picture that shows how REALLY tiny they are.

This is my special boy.

He is a 4 year old stallion.

His name is Golden Meadow BC Starmakers Indiana.

He is by Brewers Classic Starmaker who is a 31" homozygous pinto (loosa).

I believe that he was about 17 or 18" at birth.

Here is mine...Dusty Lane Commander Majorette...all 28" of her:) I don't know what she measured as a foal though. She had a little sorrel filly this year who was around 17" at birth...so we expect her to stay pretty small also. We mostly have the taller ones at our house...but when I saw Pudge...I just HAD to have her

We have several of her sons, who are toping out at 27 to 28 inches. Just no recent

pictures of them.

Another one of tiny mares is SRR Dances With Fire, a red roan mare, all of 25 inches.

Picture with her 05 filly - Princesa, who is out of NFC Egyptian Kings Mistique. Princesa at

a year old, is 25 inches. Princesa was 14 1/2 inches at birth. Picture in my avatar shows

how tiny she was at birth.

We were always concerned about Aprils foalings becasue of her size but she is to this day one of the best broodmares I have ever seen in labor. She stays calm, pushes a few times until foal is out, is then up and attending to her foal as though the labor was not a big deal. We have sold her to MH Ranch and they told me she had a beautiful black colt this summer (we bred her to Hot Shot last summer, this was her first colt she usually has fillies) Even though she was always the smallest of our mares she was the boss. She was a bold girl but always a sweetheart. We miss her lots but she is loved very much at MH

I love them, they are all so small! I am glad Gena mentioned that her small mare was one of her best broodmares, I hear a lot that smaller mares have issues but rarely hear that they were one of the best!

Here is our 3 year old son of Cross Country Call Me Awesome. Jones Call Me Phoenix

He has measured between 27.5" to 28"

We have three that they are and one which is just a 1/4" over that, which one is for sale.

First one is Darros Skippers ItzyBitzy Nuffin which was 14" at birth and now as a mature mare she is 27 3/4" at 5 Years old. (SHE IS FOR SALE)

/mares/nuffinweb.jpg

Next one is Oak Forest Butterfly and she is 28" 15 years old a long with being the dam of the above mare.

/mares/butterflyweb.jpg

The third one is Whispering Firs April Breeze and she is 28" tall at 12 years old. She is a half sister to the National Champion 28" an under "Whispering Firs Apache Prince" that JOHN AND CINDY CHERRY own.

/mares/aprilweb.jpg

My final one is a mare that is just a little over 28" tall and she is Darros Elegant Wings which she is 13 Years old, but she is 28 1/4" tall. She is a third generation broodmare we own.

Thank you for asking about the little ones.

Now, everyone ought to know better than say they want to see little horses, cause, HERE I COME LOL Or rather, here comes Cowboy and some get

this is Cowboy...25 1/2", 110 pounds.

this is Cowboy's 5th birthday party when he was officially measured 25 1/2"

Cowboy has sired numerous foals that mature 28" or under. One colt this year may be about Cowboy's size at maturity. He is the cuuuuuutest thing!

Three of Cowboy's foals this year predict to mature small. Wings, 27"....Sir Prize 26 1/2", and Ultimate Cowboy 25 1/2" or a bit more. They were all born in the 16" - 17" range. They are all around 5-6 months now, very fat and growing at their maximum rate and still predicting small.

She is the cutest little mare and very proportionate for one so tiny. With any luck she's in foal to Harts Tip Top Flash in my avatar for next year!

Here are a couple of pics. of my mini colt that was about 25" tall at almost a year old. He was a very tiny baby, although I don't know his exact height when he was a baby.
