OK time for the long story now that everything died down a bit around here.....
Now I dont want to hear it for this one ok?
Last night when I checked her I thought she looked pretty close, her stomach was lower, not a V but low, her bag was bigger, still couldnt get much out of it. I was guessing she would have one tonight or tomorrow night - Supprise!
I woke up early this morning to my mom yelling "There is a tiny foal in with Molly and Rodeo!" :new_shocked:
I jump out of bed, run and trip down stairs, grab a coat and run out the door to see a tiny still wet foal walking around between Molly and Rodeo who were babysitting rather nicely. Pixie and Mixie on the other side of the fence, calmly watching. I run in the paddock, scoop the baby up, bring her in the stall, call Mixie in, shut the doors and there you have it. Molly, thinking this was really her foal, ran around screaming bloody murder because I took "her foal" from her and gave it to "that other mare". Once she realized the foal was in the stall she calmed down, pressed her face up against the bars and stared for a long time. Mixie was happy to have her baby back and she went to work licking her while baby arrow got a drink and proceeded to run around the stall.
I have no idea how baby arrow managed to get out so darn fast, I checked, double checked and triple checked the fence, even put boards up where we thought a foal might be able to crawl under the white fence rails. Needless to say Im never taking that chance again and were putting a woven wire fence up right there. If she got out once she'll find herself doing it again, who knows, shes so darn small she could probley squeeze right threw my blue gates! I guess I figured Rodeo, who TRIED to get out, never got out, so these ones wouldnt, well shes so dang small she could crawl under a crack in the door if she tried hard enough. So up goes a new fence. Today, so she can come out tomorrow, Pixie and Mixie arent happy with the stall wall separating them.
Molly and Rodeo are still certain this small package is theirs to keep and are glued to the stall looking in often and arguing over which one gets to keep it when it comes back out.
Any way here she is, all dried off and ready to play.
''Could some one scratch my butt please?''
''I wonder if I can access the milk threw the back door here....''
''Nope, this way works so much better!''
Her little arrow marking is so darn cute!
