I would still have the school nurse check it out. It still could be strep. Sometimes it is very sneaky and it can get much worse, REAL fast, like when my daughter got Scarlet Fever.

Untreated strep-throat can lead to scarlet fever, I know this first hand!!! Just call your doctor's nurse and talk to her to ask what she thinks.

As a nurse & mom I can tell you that Strep Throat is something that you shouldn't wait around on. Even if your Mom doesn't think that you need to go to the DR., or won't take you to the DR. ! You need to be seen by an MD & have a Strep test done- I'm sorry for being so blunt but I have seen kids in so much pain from Strep that they had to have narcotic pain medications to ease the pain,I have actually had Strep throat once & had to take Lortab to get any rest. You should have your mother or father take you to the closest medical facility now or if not now, the first thing in the am. God Bless & Quick healing to you !

I hope you're feeling better but even if you are not worse I agree with the others you need to see the school nurse or go to the doctors!

I HATE going to doctors and rarely ever go but I got strep throat my freshman year of college but cause I hardly ever get sick I didn't think much of it. I had told a couple friends my throat hurt and one of my friends that I was talking to on the phone told me to go to the dr., she wsa in a different state but she had strep at the same time, and she said it sure sounded like it. I said nah I'd be fine, she called again in a day or so and asked if I had gone I said no but after her constant egging-on I went to the school nurse, they did the quick strep test and I had it. HOWEVER, the nurse practicioner there that day said that my case was unusual - not like most people that get it - because I didn't have a fever or...I can't remember but one of the other common symtoms. My point is, you definitely should get it checked because you could be like me and just not show some of the more common symtoms. The only reason I knew something was wrong was because my throat hurt and I couldn't swallow.
