Good heck! I think they weigh as much as the minis they are riding. Give it up people! Its not cute!!

I'm part of another all over the US horse forum. Someone posted pics of themselves riding minis. They got a good scolding from me and the post was taken down very quickly. Not cute.

All I can say is there are too many idiots-either uninformed or just stupid in this world!

Would it be appropriate for a 200 pound man to ride a tricycle??

Of course not-it would break out from under him.

So why do they think its ok to hurt these minis??

Amazing!!

I recommend using the flag option on these, animal cruelty. Seems a bit over the top to me, but I figure if enough people flag these videos often enough, maybe people will get the idea. Probably won't stop them from riding Minis, but may stop them from thinking their stupidity is cool enough to be on the internet.

I hate it when people do this and get all offended when people call them mean and leave them all nasty comments, if you dont want the negative press, dont post the video that simple

and I dont think these people willl learn until their "precious" ponies that they love and care about sooooooooo (yeah right) much fall out from under them and die. poor horses. but i guess its the only thing that will make these idiots learn

so sad

I dont click on those vids anymore.

They make me want to kill some people.

It's one thing for a five year old to ride a mini,it's totally different for a fat old dude to ride a mini.

Ok I'm bawling now, that makes me just sick.

Bet I will be leaving a reply to these idiots too. :arg!

Ditto - just go onto the site and use the "flag" content button.

I read the comments and they claimed that their instructor was a nationally certified driving/riding instructor and she was OK with it and she should know how much is too much....

Sorry but that instructor should be Embarrassed and Ashamed (which i did post in response). shame on her. Course just because someone is nationally certified doesn't nessarily mean they do things the right way i suppose. I also saw they claimed to have 50 other horses.. well why not ride one that is BIG ENOUGH to ride.

Poor lil guys!

Well obviously they can erase the negative comments. ALL of our comments are gone. Yesturday there were 35 comments this morning there are 25. I flagged the video as animal cruelty this morning.

Ok I started looking at all the mini riding videos and had to stop with this one. I flagged 20 videos while I was looking. Check out the feet on this mini and they were forcing it to walk on pavement and riding it. I feel sick.

A couple of minutes into the video the horses started to look familiar, then the guy did, then I went looking at the comments and found this one:

"Thanks!! These ponies are in GREAT shape. They're the team to beat in our province for anything in harness. I'm not worried about what people say... they're owned by a nationally certified driving/riding instructor... she knows what's "too much" for them!"

...and I was sure! Oh, this just makes me sick. They're in such good shape because they're driven in Preliminary level CDE's as a pair and tandem by that young man on the darker horse. They were at Happ's last year, down from Canada. He's a skilled driver, but....

Oy.

gives you a whole new perspective on them as horsemen/horse people doesn't it?? I still feel they and the "nationally certified instructor" should be embarrassed and ashamed. both of them were much too big but that second boy that got on the ponies was quite a bit heavier looking than the first one. Might have only been a 3 minute video, but lets load him down with 150-200lbs and make him jog around for 3 minutes.. even in shape i would guess most people would have a hard time jogging around with that.. PLUS that poor pony with the first guy on..he kept goofing off with the other boy and he'd lean over and that poor pony looked like ti had all it could do to stay from flopping over!
