This is my 6 year old Morgan gelding Shadow. I've recently (2 days ago) taught him how to "pose" like a Morgan just for fun. (

) (with the thought of maybe showing in some halter classes next year). We still have a lot to work on with his posing (like not over stretching with the back legs lol

) but he's getting the idea, we've only been working on it for 2 days so I'm not expecting perfection yet.

So my question is what do you think of his conformation? Right now he's FAT

, sunbleached, DIRTY, and has some of his mane rubbed off

but from what you can see how's he look? He's only been a trail horse his whole life, but I thought it might be fun to get into some showing maybe next year or sometime in the future with him. Any and all replies welcome. Thanks

He looks like a really nice gelding.

I don't know enough about Morgans to comment on how he would do though.

What do you mean he's "only" been a trail horse? Hey! That makes him a good horse right there. Not every horse can make a trail horse so don't sell him short. He looks nice and handsome with a big ole whopping front end on him just the way I like 'em. He's cool! Give the boy a bath and a scrunchie in that mane and you're good to go.

Oh believe me, I didn't mean to belittle him as "only" being a trail horse, he's an AMAZING trail horse!

I simply meant it as that's all he's done, he's never been shown or done parades or roping/barrel racing, etc. before.

I couldn't ask for a better trail horse and that is one of the things I really love doing. Just a couple weeks ago we went on a 9 hour trail ride with a friend of mine and her Arabian. To say the least he had the Arabian beat lol, by the last couple hours of the ride he was the one leading and he was still ready for more, while she was SO ready to be done lol. It ended up being a 9 hour ride because we got lost many times and had to back track a lot. We went up and over the mountain behind my house and just kept going, we ended up going up/down two mountians and we had no idea where we were going, just made it up as we went.

But anyways, to say the least there's pretty much nothing Shadow can't handle as a trail horse, he's pretty much done/seen it all. He'll always be my reliable trail horse that I know I can take on anything and not have to worry about him not being able to handle it. Like I said he's an AMAZING trail horse, I'd just like to get him some experience doing some other things as well.

Oh and yes he has quite the front end lol

I never noticed it as much before I saw the pictures but he really does have a big front end!
