Good things and bad things, we got all moved, 14 horses family, dog and 2 barn cats, and then the weather hit us with 4 inches of snow that blew and drifted. At least we were all here.
Frantically running "electric" to heat buckets and put up the infrared heater in the shed.
Come to find out JoJo had me fooled and is bagging up big time. Bedding her heavily with straw and making sure the heater works for her. Wish me luck on her she's been a hard mare to "dettle, settled once before and aborted at 8 months, so this will be the first foal she has had for me that went "full term". She's bagged up well, I am easily expressing clear fluid, not sticky so hopefully she gives us a bit more time to get a few things set up a bit better for her.
the vet office closest to me in Viroqua WI won't come out, the female vet that works on horses is pregnant and due in Dec, and none of the rest will come. I asked for a reference for an equine vet and they said "there wasn't one".
They want me to call a vet up by Sparta close to an hour north and I was so hoping I would have emergency help if I needed it.
The little old farmhouse we bought needs a ton of work and we are without a refrigerator until the new one is delivered on next Wednesday.
Help I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed but will keep trying to eliminate one problem at a time to whittle them down.
Wish me luck with JoJo please this baby would be a little miracle for sure.
