It has been literally ages since I've went to a movie theater to see a movie. Usually, just wait till it's out on video. Which now is mostly DVD(boy, am I falling behind on the technology age  )

So who here has been to the movie theater lately and can share a good movie to go see?

I saw King Kong last week and LOVED it! You have to really remember its fiction of course, but as long as you can let go of your hold on the "real world possibilities" and really get into the movie, it will blow you away! Loads of action. Of course, I had minor complaints, but on the whole I very much enjoyed it, and will probably buy it when it comes to DVD, though I somehow doubt Kong will be as impressive on my TV as he was in the theatre. (my seat shook when he growled!)

The Chronicles of Narnia is a great movie and not just for kids either! I'm 16 years old and I loved it (so did my parents). Very well made and it has a great story line. You can check out movies (synopsis, reviews, ect.) on fandango.com .

If it were playing in my area I'd be going to see Brokeback Mountain.

Hubby and I enjoy going to the movie theater and have to admit we are there practically every weekend....specially in the winter where there is'nt much outdoor activity.

We recently saw King Kong and Chronicles of Narnia...both good movies!!

: One coming up this Friday which I want to see is called The New World. Brokeback Mountain is definitely on my lists of movies to see at the theater, but it has'nt arrived here yet.

I usually watch everyting on DVD. My home system is good enough for me and much cheaper.

However, I did take my son to see King Kong recently. Even though ya' already know the story, they did enough new stuff with it to make it interesting. I love special effects.

There are some sequals coming out this year with some good FX potential.

Underworld Evolution opens the 20th.

Ice Age 2 out in late March.

A new X-Men with Kelsey Grammer (Dr. Frasier Crane from Cheers) as "Beast" will be out in late May.

There's even a new Superman coming in late June. (Hmm? Think I'll wait for DVD on this one.)

Naturally, there'll be a load of "other" films like Tristan and Isolde that I would rather eat broken glass than have to sit through.

What kind of films do you like?

We go to lots of movies, rent and have alot of the premium (HBO, Showtime, etc.) channels at home.

Batman Begins - on DVD really good

Recent movies -

Pride & Prejudice - well done story, I still prefer the AE version though

King Kong - very good lots of great effects - you need to totally suspend your belief in reality

Zathura - only a serious fantasy/sci fi fan would like this Jamanji rip-off.

Narnia - very very good. We all enjoyed this one

Harry Potter - loved it, my daughter has seen it 3 times, even my non-HP hubby liked it. It was the first HP movie he'd seen in the theater

Brokeback Mountain - loved this movie. It will make alot of people uncomfortable because of the subject, but it is really well done - the filming, the acting, etc. Heath Ledger's performance was great (and the other gentleman's). It does have a few slow moments, but worth seeing.

I use this site for reviews and to find out what is coming out when -

Rotten Tomato

you can see movies coming out for months in advance, etc.
